When attitude changes the statement.

Hello all, i'm writing this post just after 20mins of me being harassed.

Can somebody please simply explain this to me:

It is said that atheist people don't have any ethics cause they don't have any religious knowledge.
Also, religious people think that they are atheist when they see a man/woman with tattoos, earring etc. (I'm talking about muslims here)

So, when somebody they call atheist/marginal can help me when i'm drunk and crying on their shoulder; when a man with tattoos so-called atheist can put ice mold on my neck, how come a religious, ethical man who is married to a turbaned woman with 4 children can have the privileges for harassing me in every way?

I see a contrast here. A huge one.

Sorry to hear that but I

Sorry to hear that but I think you've got a point there. We don't need religion to morally ethical because it should comes up with the knowledge that we are a human and we should act as such.

It was a terrible experience.

It was a terrible experience. I can say that the attitude of a person is not dependent on his/her religion nor a religion can dictate what kind of manner a person should have. It really depends if the person chooses to be good or not...

This is the hypocrisy of

This is the hypocrisy of theists though.
When charity is given by religious people, it is the religion which gets the credit.
When rape/killing/etc... is done by religious people, it is the person and not the religion.

Why don't we say it strait, religion has really no control on anything moral and charitable people would still give to charity if there was something else instead of religion.

The only effect it does, is to make people more stupid then they would be if they start accepting their doubts as a good thing rather than a sin.

Easy: He can because his god said he can. Lacking a god, our options are more limited by being reality-based.

No doubt harassment privileges are a tempting reason to convert, but if I told my wife how much god wants her to wear a turban, she'd punch me in the nuts.

It does bother me that

It does bother me that religious people feel that they are allowed to harass non-religious people. If they are so spiritual, wouldn't they just leave people alone?

Simple the majority of

Simple the majority of religious people believe its their right to do what they want to unbelievers, 'there just going to hell anyway so why be concerned with their feelings'
I find it offensive when christians or muslims claim moral superiority when any unbiased viewer would call them evil or at best amoral.
They also seem to believe they invented morality despite evidence of laws predating their religions and despite the vile rules their religions enforced. Theres also a sound hypothesis (not sure if its a theory bad memory) of how morality evolved. There are social animals that have displayed morality other primates in particular.
They also conveniently ignore the fact that the majority of atheists were theists do the really think we lost our concept of right and wrong just because we saw the truth.
