Guys believe me, we use it

Guys believe me, we use it every week not an issue. Zoom has several security updates. They have even upgraded their encryption. Zoom is safe to use. You don't have to be afraid to join.

You are not coming across as particularly trustworthy on this topic......

Not what the industry is saying........https://www.tomsguide.com/news/zoom-security-privacy-woes

Do not download their app.
Use a VPN (and preferably TOR over a commercial VPN) connect ONLY with your browser.
Be aware that your information will probably be sold to a third party.
Be aware that if you "private chat" with another user the transcript of that conversation will be available to the room at the end of the session.

If you read this article to the end it does state that Zoom are working hard to rectify some problems and just mask others.

Personally I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot barge pole insulated at both ends and a china bit in the middle for at least 6 months and had checked that the major bugs (being discovered almost daily) are completely fixed.

I wouldn't trust anything

Because of the nature of the mistakes that were made: I wouldn't trust anything made by a group that released the earlier version of this product; ever.

Imagine that you discovered that the clerks at your local grocery store were shitting on the vegetables before they were put on display to be sold, and that this was company policy. Would you buy stuff there after they announced they had updated their policies; knowing that the same people are working there, and the same people are in charge? I sure as fuck wouldn't.

I’ve come to the conclusion

I’ve come to the conclusion that being the lazy fuck that I am, that I will trust the opinions of those who have some experience in this field and with whom I have engaged with (and for some reason, allow me to engage)...OVER the opinion of someone who has some form of agenda and perhaps no experience in the field of technology and with whom my “engagement” has been extremely minimal. :)

But that’s just my opinion.

I'm not trying to deceive

I'm not trying to deceive anyone. We all use zoom and once again that same article that you posted discusses their improvemnents.

From the article

Zoom is still safe to use in most cases
Does all this mean that Zoom is unsafe to use? No.

Unless you're discussing state or corporate secrets, or disclosing personal health information to a patient, Zoom should be fine to use.

Here are a list of updates.

Hey, I can understand your concerns but I do have experience in the field of technology also my agenda is not to preach to you or anything. Once again no one will preach to you. It's a discussion and freedom to express. Please put your guard down.

@James Re: "Please put your guard down."

...*chuckle*... Being former law enforcement and military, I do not put down my guard for much of anybody. I ESPECIALLY do not put down my guard when told to do so by an individual stranger of which I hold a suspicion. You really aren't helping your cause very much, just so you know... *another chuckle*...

I understand that I'm a stranger and I understand your concerns. I know i'm being genuine but there is no way for you to know that. You're right if you want to keep your guard up then keep it up. I do encourage you to come this week though.

And it still aint fixed.......good luck.

Think, if you have atheists or a religion that is illegal in its home country would you be happy knowing that there is a good chance that their ID will be available to the authorities at the end of the session?

Zooms's encryption is just not up to it.

Please don't pretend expertise you just do not have. Zoom is unsafe for this kind of exercise at the moment.

No, I will not be joining you for those very reasons.
I have no reason to trust your word. and absolutely no confidence that Zoom has fixed its problems as yet.

It seems you are very anxious to promote this activity...why?

I wish I could do this, but I

I wish I could do this, but I know I simply do not have the patience anymore.

The claim is never substantiated, nor evidenced.

So it becomes a pointless discussion based on linguistics, mental gymnastics and logical arguements(none of which are deductive).

Go through any atheist forum or any debate on YouTube and even the most educated theists such as WLC misrepresent or misunderstand the science(see his debate with sean carroll).

I just wish a theist could actually put forward any evidence to support their claims.

Its dull now and perhaps why I can be a little blunt, but it's the same old things...

- misrepresent/misunderstand the science
- nitpicking words
- shifting the burden of proof
- arguements from incredulity
- arguments from ignorance
- appeal to authority
- the moral game

And I just cannot be bothered with asking another theist to demonstrate one causal link that goes from naturalistic to supernatural.

Maybe when good arguements are made I would be willing to entertain such things.
