I've joined this community not longer than 1 week. Most of the thread that I read is from Ex-muslim Atheist about their awful situation in their country.
I'm also an Ex-muslim Atheist from Bangladesh. I also posted about persecution that I face for being an Atheist.
My question is to all of you, are the Muslims only face persecution for being an atheist? Don't Ex-Jews, Ex-Christian or other atheists face any problem?

I am a closeted atheist.... I try to keep my anti god anti religious howling to a minimum in person....

Atheists in Western countries may face ridicule or minor discrimination, but we have the protection of the law, and we have freedom of speech. Any problems that we face are trivial compared with your situation.
You have my greatest respect for your courage. I hope (not pray!) that sometime soon people in your country will be able to cast off the chains of religion.

Atheists/Agnostics from many traditions are persecuted to a greater or lesser degree.....
There are many on these very forums who have been shunned ,ostracised ,harassed ,assaulted and attacked by "friends" , "neighbours" , "co-workers" ,"fellow students" ,"family"...

@Algebe: Thank you for your reply. We have a few numbers of outspoken Atheist. We always demand to our government for the right of Atheist people and right of free speech. But Muslim majority people don't tolerate this. Only thing they want to establish Sharia law :(
