Blogger Asif Mohiuddin has been arrested for writing against religious fundamentalism in Bangladesh today at 3pm (GMT +6). He was called upon by the DB Police (Detective Branch) at 11am in the morning and was shown arrested at 3pm. Last night he posted a message on facebook and wanted his subscribers to spread it to international media.
Here is his last status on this: https://www.facebook.com/atheist.asif/posts/506350099412423
He wrote as a comment to the Bengali version of this status last night:
"আমাকে তলব করা হয়েছে, জানি না আর লিখতে পারবো কিনা। এই লেখাটি আন্তর্জাতিক মিডিয়াতে শেয়ার করবেন প্লিজ।" -আসিফ মহিউদ্দীন
"I have been called upon, don't know if I'll be able to write anymore. Please share this message to the international media." -Asif Mohiuddin.
For the record, Asif had been stabbed by four members of Ansarullah Bangla Team, which is supposedly a part of Al Qaeda, on January 14, 2013. He is a very prominent blogger in the Bengali blog coomunity and was a front-line activist of the Shahbag movement. Recently, another radical Islamist organization called Hefajat-e-Islam Bangladesh have threatened of unleashing anarchy if the atheist bloggers aren't hanged. That's the reason our so-called secular government are on an attempt to arrest the bloggers. They started off with three of them, Subrata Shuvo, Mashiur Rahman Biplob and Rasel Parvez and now Asif Mohiuddin too has been added to the list.

Why does this suprise you, when religious groups are resposible for many acts of violence and injustice in the history of this world.
I'm not surprised that such witch hunts still go on because of religious extremists.
The arrest of innocent people that expose religion is something that has been happening since religion exists.
Yes which is why I dont even get surprised over such news, because as long as there is religion this will also exist.
