Atheist Isolation

For those of you who feel isolated, ostracized or even immoral due to you families' and/or friends' rejection of your perfectly logical conclusion that there is no God, and that religion is a harbor for hate and war, you're not alone, I too, feel isolated from those who so outwardly flaunt their own delusional beliefs, and always make a point of telling you that they're going to church, temple, kingdom hall, etc. I relate to the cringing effect you experience when people you've known and loved make a point of uttering statements such as "Well, it's all in God's hands now," or "God has a plan," or my all-time favorite, "All you can do is pray things will work out," and blah, blah, blah. Really, I hate to say it, but unless you're the type who always wants to entertain a heated argument, you should probably just ignore their religious rhetoric unless a direct insult or pot-shot is delivered directly to you regarding your atheism.
I've learned that you just can't argue with nonsense because people have an established set of beliefs which are indoctrinated into their minds as early as they can talk and walk. In fact, Atheism is so taboo in most families that some parents, relatives, and even friends would rather you stab them repeatedly than tell them that there's no God.
However, if you really want to get back at self-righteous assholes a few basic quotes/questions will do. For instance, ask your so-called friend or loving family member that if God is so great, good, and all-powerful, why is it that he created beings which have to feed on other living beings in order to survive? Is God simply like a young kid who likes to use a magnifying glass to fry helpless bugs, spiders, and ants? Does he get off on watching our struggles to survive and avoid hunger and homelessness at any cost? And if so, how can such a God be considered at all benevolent? Who the hell wants to die, and meet that guy?
I'm also reminded of a quote by the great Mark Twain that says, "It's easy to fool people, but nearly impossible to convince them that they've been fooled." The recent election is great evidence for that declaration. Another statement you can make is to ask believers if they really think humans could've survived along-side dinosaurs, and if women truly come from a man's rib? Of course, then they'll take the interpretive approach by proclaiming that these are stories meant to teach a lesson; an allegory of some kind. Everything will always be a rationalization of whatever effective argument you make because they want to be fooled into a state of blissful ignorance where even when you die, you don't. They will disavow evolution as a plague on society, and call the Big Bang theory ridiculous just because they don't understand the scientific principles of matter and energy, and how the earth and planets were formed.
Really, I would just find new friends, and if you must be around religiously fanatic family members, I'd just ignore any of their illogical, misinformed rants. The reality is that about 25% of people in the U.S. declare that they are atheists, agnostics, humanists, ect., so imagine how many more of us are just hiding in the closet? I wouldn't doubt that close to 30 or 40 percent of the population at least deeply questions the idea of God. Therefore, know that you're not alone, and that actually there's millions of people in the world that feel exactly as you do. And for those that refuse to accept you, you're better off without them anyway.
