Dear Mykcob

After seeing some forum posts lately, including your tornado one you just made, I see why you get frustrated. Condolences :(

Many of you guys are so

Many of you guys are so mysterious with ur names and pics. Are there many serial killers and psychos on this sight ?
Or is it because people hate atheists ?
Am I being stupid to show my face to crazy atheist?

I guess I'm an old fuddy-duddy; in that I still have some (perhaps naive) expectations of privacy. It's why I don't do social media either (I don't have a facebook/snapchat/twitter/etc/etc account).

I'm just a bit nervous about identity theft. There are a lot of vermin in the undergrowth of the Internet. I've been online openly in other forums, and I was disturbed to see how far my footprints had spread.

Logically, (hah!) you should be just fine, I think the odds are very low that remaining anonymous with picture/name will make much difference of anything.

You are also more understanding and less combative than many on these boards, I doubt you will upset anyone too much that you even have to consider the very unlikely event that somehow remaining completely anonymous would help you.

I remain mainly anonymous simply because it is very easy to do so. And it is habit, when I visit other theist boards or political boards and get a tad combative, (at least in their opinion,) I prefer any extra layer of anonymity that can be afforded to me. Some whackos on other boards and discussion areas freak even me out a little. There are some discussion boards that I only connect through proxy/tunnels. I get more worried about the host of the sites tracking user data, (not a problem here I would like to think.)

Plus on the very small off chance of possible discovery, I have plenty of family myself that are not aware that I am atheist, and I would rather they did not find out through the internet.

Wanted to send u a message about the dark web and the research I did. Your message doesn't go through.:( About weed pills.

I have been on political

I have been on political boards that were very combative. I don't hold anything back so punks that are brave can try to be tough from their mom's basement. They have challenged me. It always shocks them when I PM them and give my address and ask them to make a visit. They usually back down. I have had a few that wanted to meet "to kick my ass". I always show up and usually they never show. One actually showed up. I told him that we will do this "legal". I met him at a fight gym that I am a member. He was a fat 30 something bubba that didn't actually have much fighting experience. I took him down and he cried like a baby. The real problem is like Logic said the host using or selling your information. And the fact that the NSA monitors these sites often. Your picture and real name won't make a difference, they already have that information. Your provider has given it to them. At anytime they can just monitor your keystrokes and do.

I always figured that you were one of those seemingly decreasing few who had the bite to back up their bark. I just didn't know whether you had ever actually had to use it before. Remind me not to cross you.......

On another note, I caught those edits............ I miss nothing............. Lol

Yeah, I'm a tough guy, but I

Yeah, I'm a tough guy, but I have lost more fights than won them. The thing is about fighting is that even the ones you win, you lose also. I am small. I am 5'6" 164 lbs. I have fought competitively since the age of 4. Although I have never been knocked out, I have taken some pretty hard hits. I have never had a fight that I didn't sustain some sort of injury. I once knocked out a guy with one punch. That was the whole fight. Bam and it was over. I had to have surgery because I cracked my knuckle. I have arthritis in that hand to this day.

I hate Facebook because so

I hate Facebook because so many of my christian acquaintances and family post things there. This may surprise you but I'm a very private person usually. I have easily blocked the majority of people out of my life because they have always been so influential on my thoughts emotions. Im going through some self discovery and trying to figure out what I can do to help this awful situation where religion seems to have too much control over our country. Ive always stayed off social media until last year when twitter became so easy for me to get info and learn some shit. There are many introverts like me that hate whats happening but aren't sure what to do because our voices aren't loud. My salon owner is similar to me in that when she reads a story in the news that upsets her she will tweet about it to vent then say Jamie did u hear...I cried all night about that one. So here I am being way too honest with a bunch of strangers and somehow this feels safer than going out and physically doing something until I figure my shit out.
Also mykcob4 I would prefer it if you didn't get in anymore physical fights because your words have helped me and I'm now seeing many others. But if your a rebel and thats just gonna spur you on then I say nothing:)
I appreciate all of the honesty I've heard on these forums and I'm learning to see through christian lies more and more.

I try my best not to fight

I try my best not to fight physically anymore. Like I said no one really wins a fight. A rebel? Nah, not really. I just don't like bullies of any kind. As far as making a change. If you read Martin Luther King Jr., You'd know that from a small group much can be done. You're too young to have lived through the civil rights movement, the peace marches, gay rights marches (stonewall), NOW movement. All these activist groups started in someone's kitchen. There ARE groups you can join and be active. Black Lives Matter just started up a few years ago and yet they are a strong political force.

So true about how no one wins

So true about how no one wins a physical fight. Even from within the confines and the rules of a fight gym.

Outside of the rules of a boxing ring, or other fight gyms/clubs anything goes, and that is where whoever is nastier wins the fight almost exclusively. Who brings more friends, who brings "a gun to a knife fight" etc.

Nasty wins the day, for instance, you can teach your <100 pound 14 year old daughter how to fend off an attacker 2x or 3x her size pretty effectively with a few sentences. How? Teach her how to fight nasty when the stakes are desperate.

All humans have major weak spots that even a little girl can take advantage of. Chances are an attacker is not going to protect all of them, or probably even, any of them especially when facing someone 1/2 or less their size. Two of the weakest are the eyes and the throat. Eyes are a harder target to hit, (more protected) but are devastating if hit. The throat is a larger target, and if you aim for the windpipe, it requires very little force to do a lot of damage. Beyond that, just below the chestplate/sternum hit by a knee if available can do a tremendous amount of damage to most attackers. Speaking of knees, with a little bit of practice, going for the knees can cripple an attacker, even with just the force a little gear can muster, but this weak point does require a bit of training to utilize properly.

Using your forehead against a nose is a good way to get an opening, if the attacker is in close, (DON'T MISS!) better yet, if the attacker grabs from behind, using the back base of the skull vs a nose, the back of the skull wins everytime. The broken nose will give the opening to hit the neck/eyes to allow enough incapacitation to get away and certainly get the upper hand.

An attack to a man's groin can momentarily give an opening large enough to hit a critical area, but a lot of men expect this attack, and the stun will be short and probably just further enrage the man, (unless they are real lousy at fighting, which a lot of men are.)

Of course a bottle of mace is a pretty effective tool as well, if a person has it with them and can access it before the fight starts.

Damn I need to take a self defense class. It seriously grossed me out many of the options you described. I'm more likely to kick the groin. Or more likely talk to them and figure out how I can help them not be an asshole. I'm like my gramma was in many ways.
One nite a guy was trying to steal my dads radio out of his 57 chevy as he went to leave his girlfriends (my mom) house. He and my uncle(moms older bro) chased the robbers down and brought the two guys back to the house while granny made them tea and Brownies. She was such a sweet host while they waited for the cops.
She had no fear of people and would frequent homeless woman under bridges give them food. Help them find homes. She was a short,!always makeup done, classy lady that could run in stilettos. Miss that beautiful woman:)

I do stress, as I stated in

I do stress, as I stated in the beginning of my post: that this is for desperate situations, a situation that if you are smart and take precautions will likely never have to face.

You can really, really injure a person badly with these methods. Hence the desperate situation. But I feel these are good methods to be aware of, just incase the need arises.

I personally feel if everyone knew these simple, but devastating methods, attacks on people would be greatly reduced, as these people can properly defend themselves if needed, other than being a helpless victim. Suddenly the victim would not be "worth it" to the attacker.

Of course the real trick here is teaching the discipline is to only use these methods in self defense. These kinds of moves can injure and possibly cripple for life the attacker, possibly opening the defender to a major lawsuit for injuries sustained.

Well worth the use of such moves if the defender faces the threat of serious injury or death, but not worth it to fend off someone that is just trying to steal a purse, settle a dispute, or a school yard brawl.

A proper self defense class is a better way to go. It just a bit more time/money investment then a few quick ideas. They can teach you better defensive moves that are not so crippling to the attacker, and how to better protect your own vulnerable points if you get surprised.
