@Cog Yes! Finally, someone

@Cog Yes! Finally, someone who understands the way of the Goat! I always say that too. The problem with it, however, is that unless they are RationalWikians or have heard of that skeptical site, nobody will understand what it means.

Thing about religious words

Thing about religious words in our language is that you have to bear in mind that religion has had thousands of years to infect our language and culture in so many ways. Because of that, although I try my best to avoid religious words and phrases I don’t beat myself up about it if I don’t always manage to.

Heck, every time we even refer to a particular year it is a measurement of time relative to religious bullshit.

I think we should revert to the Star Trek measurements of time as in star date whatever.

My in-law is very Christian

My in-law is very Christian from Venezuela but lives in the USA. He prays deeply that the USA doesn’t go socialism like his childhood country. I say Venezuela people pray and pray and pray but look where they are, in dire needs. I ask him why GOD doesn’t intervene. Does GOD not hear are just chooses to let them suffer? He has no response. It’s very difficult the break the train of thought with a religious person.
