I doubt there are many Aussies still unaware..Over the Easter week end police are using helicopters to ensure people are respecting the travel bans. Such people risk a $1500 on the spot fine.

"Helicopters, Police Checks, Fines: Australia's Easter Travel Crackdown Against Coronavirus"

"MELBOURNE (Reuters) - Australia will deploy helicopters, set up police checkpoints and hand out hefty fines to deter people from breaking an Easter travel ban, officials warned on Friday, in their toughest crackdown against the coronavirus, even as its spread slows.

More than half of Australians identify themselves as Christians, with many in past years attending church services or going on trips to visit family and friends during Easter public holidays that run until Monday."

Me? On Good Friday I became bored shitless. So I had a complex dinner, finishing with a self saucing chocolate pudding, with yogurt. So much sugar and simple carbs!. So much for my new life style diet.

@ Whitefire re drums:

@ Whitefire re drums:

When one of my wives and I broke up (acrimoniously) I did a terrible thing, I bought my 5 year old son a drum kit. Just to annoy the living snot out of her.
He is now a professional music producer, world class drummer with his own studios and has toured most of the world. He plays 5 instruments to orchestral standard and a few more to studio standard. Over talented, noisy little.....*mumbles as walks away*

@ Cranky: Gentleman Jack will be a surprise for you then....I am so looking forward to your reaction! Yes prices will soar over the next 6 months and that nice Mr Morrison will be able to exact his revenge on us lotus eating idle pensioners and the impoverished while feeding his mates candied million dollar bills. Arse.
Some people will be reduced to eating fried or roast toilet rolls to survive.

OK, you twisted my arm: The full dinner: Grilled chicken breast fillet with olive oil and garlic slivers (you slice cuts into the fillet) , steamed bok choy, steamed and mashed butternut pumpkin with butter and cumin, potato gratin, green peas. (frozen).

The self saucing pudd was pretty good, but I had to use cocoa powder. A richer dark chocolate would have been better ,such as Lindt 80% cocoa butter. The yogurt was Aldi's light, which I like and was a perfect balance to the sweetness. I'm sure cream would be fine, but not ice cream ,imo.

Tonight it's back to the magic powder. I've come too far to give up; have lost 11kg (24lbs) over the last 3 months. My goal is 15 kg.

Oh I say, how terribly kind of you to say.

Was a time I was a gourmet cook. Can't be arsed these days just for myself. I eat a lot of stews and stir frys. My toastie maker broke.

Back to boring today. Lunch; poor man's pizza; two slices of bread, smear with tomato paste, add sliced cheese, roughly chopped bacon and basil. Grill until cheese is golden brown . Washed down with green tea,

Dinner; a shake made from magic powder and water. Fucking disgusting.

@ Cranky that does sound

@ Cranky that does sound yummy...the first post not the second...I am doing Roo burgers for luncheon for SWMBO and I. Fresh Cos, Beetroot, Onion relish, mayo, vintage cheddar, Roma tomato, dill pickles....oh and hot mustard on mine...

Washed down with a snappy Pinot Noir from our cousins in NZ (raises glass towards the East)

Should get us hopping......

Roo burgers? I have eaten roo once, thought it was great beef. I actually became distressed when told it was roo. Can't bring myself to eat such a beautiful animal.

I DO miss great SA wines. Didn't know they grew decent wine in NZ, but it make sense that they would,

Boo!

Boo!
It appears the all the Scottish Highland Games in my geographic area are all being cancelled because of Covid 19. Fucking asshole virus!
We have represented our clan for years at these games and built a social community with some of the other clan reps. It breaks my heart that we won’t see them this year. No hanging out in the beer gardens, no singing along with The Wicked Tinkers, no parade of the Clans, no listening to the massing of the pipes and drum at the end of the day, no watching the (sigh) buff caber tossers.
Although I’m on the agoraphobic side, this was my main social outlet every year. I’m sad.

Highland Games

That is a shame. They are all cancelled here as well. I was looking forward to greeting many with my newly refound Gaelic skills.

Still, I dare say I shall manage to drown my sorrows in some variety of uisge-beatha.

I’ve a number of lovely ones.

I’ve a number of lovely ones. Speyside, of course. :)

Edited to add: I’ll raise a wee dram in honor of our AR community.

Speyside? Acceptable but for the gle mhath uisge-beatha Ile (Islay) is the alpha and omega, and for the rich peatiness then Skye stays on in charge. Talisker.....the warrior king of contemplative whiskey

Oh did you know the whisky liqueur "GlayVa" is the phonetic rendition of "gle mhath" ..very good, or best? Fun fact for Saturday.

Cranky that sounds so good I

Cranky that sounds so good I would sell my left toe for some fresh bok choy right now

My favorite recipe lately has been glace, a dish I grew up on. My adoptive family are Germans-from-Russia and glace is a cultural poor man's dish.

All it is is a dumpling made from egg and flour, boiled with potatoes, topped with black burnt fried onions and heavy whipping cream. Sounds wierd af but it's salty and sweet and bitter and Carby all at once

Whitefire13's picture
Mikhael- sounds awesome

Mikhael- sounds awesome (drooling). I’ve made a batch of homemade perogies

Fucking /yum/

Fucking /yum/

We have a version of those too (cause Russia) called a Bierock, filled with meats, onions and cabbage/kraut. God if there's anything I miss about living in Kansas it's Midwest Octoberfest. Midwest Germans almost all came from Russia so the food and culture is different from /German/ German Octoberfest

...*more drooling*... Dammit... That sounds amazing.... Oh, and you are now in the asshole category with Cranky. I was munching on a store-bought chocolate-filled four-day-old cannoli when I read that.... *grumble-grumble*.....

Well, no real financial

Well, no real financial strain here. I am not going to work per say...our facility is closed. I am staying at home. I am doing some review of friends test data for them, via the net. My wife is labeled as an essential worker by the government, so she physically goes out...but has limited contact with people via her directive, so no real contact. They have ppe if contact is needed. In the last week and a bit, we have decided to live apart. My wife does not want me or the dog infected by her.(more so the dog. :D). We have divided our house in half, and decided to do so until the development of a pathogen vaccine. My wife is using our inlaw suite as her space, and I have the upper house, and the dog. We now talk via devices as before...more so than we ever have. The cells have been a good thing. We also have a home wide intercom system, which we never really used since we purchased the house, until now. This new arrangement has been relatively easy for us logistically, and personally, thus far. Although, we miss each other a lot...the physical loss we have noted...she really misses the dog. The dog sometimes sleeps by the access door to the suit. He doesn't understand. Both of us have noted that our sleep quality has improved. Although we are physically missing each other on that front too. We are not lonely, and do not feel isolated at all, thus far. We are keeping busy, and that has helped. If things continue this way, my wife may be gone with work for longer periods...we will see how that goes...we have been together for a long time, and she has been away on assignments before, but not this isolated from each other. Ugh.
