*Psychosis - a loss of contact with reality, beliefs with no basis in reality.
Nearly half of the United States believes “Jebus will return by 2050”!
These are the beliefs with no basis, in reality, our current inept designers and controllers of the entirety of the US’s environmental and climate policies.
Believing, as do a huge percentage of the christian society members literally, ”at large”, that environment and climate don’t in any way matter insanely knowing “‘god’s got it handled!” and the added “it ain’t real unlessin’ it in that (1) book I was told’s fact.” or simply Humanities problems are “the warning signs of end times!”
A country whose founding wisdom scribed in a specific separation of churches and the state, those who’ve lost contact with reality who possess beliefs with no basis in reality and those concerned with and by the tangible and real.
It’s not a relative moment away, our collective end, unless the big clock’s minute hand gets inexcusably moved, nor is that imaginary friend, tall, white, blond, chiseled hunk (the average Middle Eastern Jew from 2k years ago), will not shortly stroll down from the clouds because “HE” doesn’t exist.
Our policies, secondary to the “wisdom” of the Harry Potter of the mid-300s, will, in 30ish years, dramatically change all maps. Not an “end of times” only a huge problem which will then have to be dealt with after the fact.
Ignorance and psychosis actually allowing the United States to physically diminish. Its citizens killed and displaced due to what? Not wanting to burst the ubiquitous psychotic bubble?
Look at the efforts and results of, was it 97% of the scientists whose education and experience are in the environmental sciences? They aren’t predicting happy, smooth sailing.
With immediate, intelligent and correct effort, plus the cash needed for something so critical, we will lose more land. Some has washed away already.
Doing what we are doing now, we aren’t doing anything, and significant land and large numbers of Humans, both lost.
Continuing our blind only slaps a big “fuck you!” onto all those Humans soon to die all those who eventually will succumb to our disregard for them.
American Humans and Humans around the World, politically, morally, ethically nothing, insignificant all, built on the delusion that “god is love!” by psychotics supposedly believing the same.
We’ve got people without scientific knowledge or backgrounds making huge decisions about policies and writing “scientific“ law science fact-free.
They’re using archaic scriptural fantasies for guidance. Shaking their divine magic 8-ball, stroking the severed foot of something that never was, and or believing if they close their eyes real hard and think words in their brainboxes, sorry, if they “pray”, just right, everything will magically be ok.
And or, 30 years and dust. Either way “totally out of our control!”, right?

These professed pathologically deluded Humans are making laws based on the fiction that will impact the Human Species from here forward.
I’d prefer to not be a part of just a blip in time, a thin layer of dust and plastic, but no more. Evolved to be smart enough to survive, but far too stupid, psychotic and deluded to do so.
Destroying Humanities ability to thrive, even diminishing it slightly, to cater to psychotics is in itself complete and total lunacy.
USS Exxon Valdez heading for the beautiful, seal covered rocks of the entire World, but it is text-book psychotic insanity and not intoxication which is impairing OUR captain.

This is an interesting topic I would love to debate on, (with or against you.)
But you need to work on delivery some, a wall of text is difficult to wade through. I also tend to get quite long and wander in my writing here at times, I try to be aware of it, and try to keep it more on topic and short and sweet, you will find you get a lot more responses that way.
Or if you feel its a topic you must really go into depth on, create a summary at the top, then back your summary with the details below it, so people can respond, and if they challenge a certain part of the summary they can then read below and find the supporting details.

When one begins a conversation, they state the topic to be discussed. You did not, and I did read the entire post, but it was all over the map, and to be very honest, I had no idea of the focus of the conversation. In fact, despite the fact you was trying to figure "why the inhumanity", the post name was a completely different topic.
You really need to focus on just one topic at a time.

Work on your thoughts and please try to express them clearly. Then you will get considered, polite and thoughtful replies.
We get many stream of consciousness ramblings here on these forums. If you want to be taken seriously proofread your posts.
Try not to insult the members until you gave at least established a clear position.
A wall of unpunctuated text is not conducive to intelligent discourse on any subject. Consider how you present your thoughts.

To elaborate a bit on what Old Man said, if you sincerely want some constructive feedback and productive discussion around here, you really do need to shorten your posts into a more focused topic of concern.
In all fairness, I totally understand how it is to get a zillion thoughts in your head that you feel the overwhelming need to purge. And the "stream of consciousness" writing can be an effective way of helping clear your mind. Been there, done that. However, "stream of consciousness" writing is NOT something you want to share in a public forum if you are looking for advice or positive feedback.
In the interest of fair play and giving you the benefit of the doubt, please allow me to offer a suggestion. Now that you have all those random thoughts purged and in written form, take some time to sort through it all and organize it a bit. Then pick out one or two main concerns and present them in a brief and orderly manner with a clear topic/question for discussion. Do this, and I assure you the responses will be much more cooperative.

I am a patient sort of bugger so I took a shot at interpreting your rant and it seems your target is how religion affects attitudes about climate change and war and intolerance and all the other social and political issues that confront us globally at the moment.
And you have identified how monotheistic religions that uphold ignorant faith in an afterlife have little regard or interest in the fate of this natural universe. They think of this reality as some sort of proving ground that will eventually be swept away and replaced with some better reality in which they will all be immortal and infinitely happy, and all without a shred of evidence to prove their little pipe dream of an idea is true.
And that's the core of your concerns about the future; that the real issues that threaten life on earth are in the hands of those who care least about it and all because of an idea.
How do we overturn this idea? As atheists we really only have only one option, to continually challenge theists claims to the existence of their god. To help them realise their god is not a fact and that we only have proof of one life time and one reality.
Theirs not a new idea, nor has it been used effectively. Jesus predicted his apostles would witness the end of the world in their own lifetimes. My fundamentalist christian brother has predicted it five times over the past forty years. Despite the very low prophetic accuracy of both Jesus and my brother, the idea stubbornly persists.
So what can you do? Monotheism with eternal afterlife rewards has proven to be an attractive, persistent, complex idea. Atheists have only one simple dry as toast one. That we do not accept theist claims to the reality of their god. That their god is only an idea and this reality and this life are the only ones of which we can be absolutely certain and can be the only one we can truly value.
The best way to overturn their idea is to explain, debate and teach, to make them see the real problems this planet actually faces will not be solved by an unevidenced mythical deity and the best way to do this is learning to express ourselves through clear, simple, meaningful statements and arguments.
Its not easy. My attempts here on AR and elsewhere involve constant editing and rewriting the one post for any thread and even then I don't express myself clearly or lay myself open to theist attacks. This post itself has taken me more than two hours to write. Writing clearly is not a natural ability for anyone. I can boast I won national writing contests when I was younger. I wish I could write theist de-converting posts today.
S4 if you want to organise your thoughts and better express yourself, learning to write effectively is a proven way of doing just that. But it takes practice.
That's why I like AR, you can write whatever shit you like, but you had better be prepared to endure very close scrutiny of what you write, your shit needs to at least be easy to follow and understood and rational. But any scrutiny and criticism will benefit you in the long run.
I have learned more here than in any creative writing course I ever wasted money on.
In the meantime, while you hone your writing skills you could go back and read some old arguments in the debate room. Learn how theists argue their points and how the more articulate AR members dismantle them. There's lots to learn and some of the funniest things ever written will be found in the forums at AR.
Hang around and take your time. Important issues take time to understand and appreciate and are well worth the effort.

Regardless of who the director and lead actor are, in order to obtain the overall true essence of Op, the editor will be the key factor. He/she will have to take all the film (including opening/closing credits), cut it into one to two minute segments, toss all those segments into a large bin, add multiple fifteen to twenty second clips from "Teletubbies" and "Power Rangers" episodes, and give the whole bin a thorough mixing. Then the editor will have to reach into the bin and pull out random segments and splice them together one by one until all segments are gone. It would be a helluva an undertaking. And it will be even worse for the poor sound crew.
