gratitude and thankfullness

Well that time of the year has come upon us once again, So tell me what do you have to be thankful for? AS for me I very grateful that Jesus Christ is my personnel Lord and Savior. I was dead in my sins and trespasses until God and Jesus came into my life. He changed me a complete 180 degrees. Why don`t you give him a chance in your life, You will never be the same if you follow basic christianity You`ll feel better you will be more loving to those you come in contact with. You will become more charitable, your whole outlook will undergo changes. You will develop a interest in reading the bible the sword of the spirit as it is known. You will become less prideful and more humble and way more loving person. You will develop patience towards others there are a whole list of attributes associated with living for god. You will make the right kind of friends fellow brothers and sisters in the lord.Your desires and interest will change completely as you let the spirit do his work in you.So this thanksgiving give it a try you will never look back!!!!!.

You don't need a god or jesus

You don't need a god or jesus to be loving and caring of other people. I enjoy my life without a god or jesus. There is plenty of happiness and joy without a god or jesus. I am thankful for my girlfriend and children without a god or jesus. I don't need a god or jesus to treat others as I want to be treated. There is life without a god or jesus. Sin is a human construct, created by religion to control people.

Oh bullshit "devout christian

Oh bullshit "devout christian"!
You aren't thankful for any of those things you claimed. Everything that you claim that you will become once you become christian is a lie. As a matter of fact just the opposite happens. One becomes less tollerent, more racist and prejudice, more judgemental.
You think that the people here haven't experienced christianity when they were probably christian from birth, when it is shoved in our faces at every turn. You don't have a fucking clue what you are talking about. You come here because you want an excuse to just sound off. You think that you are superior when you are inferior. You are the prideful one. There is no humanity and no humility in christianity. So you can cram that proselytizing bullshit up your ass. FUCK YOU!

I`m sorry you feel this way,

I`m sorry you feel this way, I was just trying to add something to the forums from a different perspective. Tell me who am I inferior to we are all the same under the heavens where God resides. We are all sinners in need of a loving God.

Sin is a human construct, created by religion to control people. Humanity can live just fine without any sin being forced on us by religion.

mykcob4's picture
You lack critical thought.

You lack critical thought. You believe in a myth and are inferior because with no evidence whatsoever of this god you try to push it on others.
"Sinned"? I haven't sinned. There is no heaven, no god. Before you start proselytizing you need to prove your myth. Until you do you will always be inferior to those who know the real truth and live by facts.

devout christian,

Yahweh is the God of the Hebrews and the God of the armies. I don't fit into those groups.

well i know that my God is

well i know that my God is ABLE, jesus was no myth neither was Moses , scholars which you are not, confirm that Jesus was no myth even the agnostic atheist Bart Ehrman concedes that Jesus Christ lived so it is no myth friend. what you are espousing comes from people like richard Carrier and Robert M. Price, who also say that jesus never lived. But no you or they that say such ridiculous things that doesn`t make it right. No matter if you go on to believe or not the facts are the facts my intolerant friend!!!! THere is an abundance of GOD but you are not open to it. so why should I bother here. Don`t forget we are cut from the same cloth. We are all fallen sinners.Jesus LOVES you mykcob

I thought jesus died for our sins? How are we fallen sinners?

bigbill's picture
the anointing death at the

the anointing death at the cross covers us but there is a thing called sanctification Which is a long process We are active sinners every moment of our lives we have our ups and downs in our daily walk, there is in the book of revelation a thing called rewards crowns if you will, And our walk will determine what kind we receive in the afterlife.Since we are not perfect jesus covers us with his anointing sacrifice on the cross. Other wise we will be left to ourselves with no hope of living forever with him.we will be cut off from jesus and heaven.

What favor of christianity

What favor of christianity are you devout christian? I don't believe in sin, jesus, or any gods. Sin is a human construct created by religion to control people. I treat people how I want to be treated, if someone treats me bad, then I have no problem doing the same to them. I don't need a reward system to behave. I don't believe in an afterlife or heaven or hell.

bigbill's picture
xenoview that`s where we

xenoview that`s where we differ in your naturalistic way of reacting to people who treat you badly you return with a negative response, Jesus said that what good are you as a follower of his if you practice these things, You see xenoview the key teaching of CHRIST is to return and respond to that person or persons with kindness and love. not the way that you choose to react. That's why we have so much strife and tension in the world is because people act out of vengeance which can lead to violence .the key here is to turn the other cheek.

1) That is all bullshit.
2) I went to catechism. I was baptized and confirmed. You are preaching a lie even for christianity. Let's for a moment say that I was still a christian. I have done everything required to enter the mythical heaven.
Your "walk" is a lie. Once you baptized or "saved" there is nothing more you need to do. I am SO FUCKING TIRED of christian liars modifying even their own bullshit trying to make people to feel guilty.

bigbill's picture
Well I tend to disagree, just

Well I tend to disagree, just receiving baptism and being confirmed are external things, but being born again and having god begin the sanctification process is another attribute altogether, You need to change inwardly with the holy spirit Christianity isn`t an act where your just baptized and you do nothing else, It is a daily walk and jesus says you would know a person by there fruits, so you see mykcob it is a day in day out walk. Just receiving baptism and being confirmed is not good enough, and it certainly wont get you rewards in heaven by doing only them.

mykcob4's picture
@devout#$%^&*!

@devout#$%^&*!
But that isn't christianity. What you profess is a perversion. The fact is under strict christian doctrine being baptized is all you need. The "walk" and "being reborn" is just a perversion and nothing more.

There are two choices in

There are two choices in regard to a mindset about your life. Gratitude or ingratitude. There is much to be grateful for in life. You are grateful for being a filthy menstrual cloth worthy of hell and damnation.

Grateful to whom? I am happy

Grateful to whom? I am happy that I'll soon get a holiday to spend with my family and friends, but there is nothing religious about the holiday for me or my family, and I have earned it that''s for sure.

If there was a deity I'd want to know why all over the developed west it's adherents were stuffing themselves with food and buying expensive presents when most of the world was living in abject poverty, and children were starving to death, and dying from diseases it created, or at least allowed to go unchecked. A roast turkey and some presents won't be enough for me to show gratitude to a being that sits idly by and daily views ubiquitous suffering with complete indifference.

luckily I don't believe a deity exists as it would be a monster I'd want nothing to do with. .

People who are motivated

People who are motivated toward the god/jesus/christanity thing are running away from something unsavory. This describes the so-called born-again sect of adherents who pretty much fouled up their lives and have found a vehicle to assist them in recovery. It's not dissimilar to alcoholics anonymous. They range from simple, honest people who can't find a place for themselves in life, philosophically speaking, to those who have let themselves get into a lot of trouble and become socially worthless, introspectively speaking. They are the misfits. Hence the "born again" citation that tells us they couldn't get it right the first time around.

Anyway...

They acquire such a strong sense of remediation in their born-again guise they feel it calls them into its service as recruiters. They are an amazingly out of touch bunch thriving upon the energy of their collective weaknesses and redirecting it as a unified exultation of their newly found strength in numbers. Wackos for sure, but if the method allows them to find the personal solace that provides some sense of normality in their lives I say go for it.

It's much easier than

It's much easier than christians make it out to be. They look for something from without to find fulfillment when real fulfillment comes from within. It could be likened to parenting yourself...... The way your parents should have parented you....or the way you would have liked them to parent you.

My aunt told me that God

My aunt told me that God cured her Hepatitis C. Apparently, instead of taking her up to paradise He gave her several years more of pain and punishment for being born. And you're supposed to thank your deity for that?

I don't understand religion at all. You come to my door with a story that you want to tell me and when I say that it is unbelievable you sentence me to punishment. If religion made any sense your god would punish you for not presenting a story that you can convince me with. Persecuting me for a thought-crime is just evidence of a con. But you are far too brainwashed to see that.

I'm grateful to all the

I'm grateful to all the people who develop advanced medical technology. I'm grateful for the Internet and computers. I'm grateful for every product of ingenuity that improves our lives and reduces suffering.

I'm grateful that I'm not a North Korean or a Christian, but of the two, I'd prefer to be North Korean, because as Christopher Hitchens pointed out, at least the North Koreans stop torturing you when you're dead.

I`M a Christian who believes

I`M a Christian who believes in basic Christianity, that Jesus Christ and I have a personnel relationship with each other and that he was crucified and died for humanities sins and god raised him on the third day and he promised to return one day. Gods wrath was poured put on Jesus at the cross the propitiation was completed. God was now reunited with humanity once again And the expiation was satisfied.

Sirkenstien's picture
"God was now reunited with

"God was now reunited with humanity once again"

Except those he is sending to hell to torment for eternity.

I love the meme of jesus knocking on someone's door. The person says, "who is it? Jesus answers, "It's jesus, let me in". There person asks, "what do you want". Jesus says, "to save you from what I'm gonna do to you if you don't let me in".

jonthecatholic's picture
lol. memes.

lol. memes.

But really, the idea of Jesus saving humanity is exactly that. The salvation he offered is up to you to accept or reject. That meme, misses the point on every single level imaginable. I'm of the belief that if we live our lives rejecting God's goodness, then by our actions, we have already decided to live out eternity without God (hell). Otherwise, if we live our lives accepting His grace and goodness, then by our actions, we have decided that we want to live out eternity with Him.

I'm not endorsing this view to anyone else though as I'm unsure of the theological effects of this idea.
