Magnificent Beast,

Magnificent Beast,

"Do you agree with the theologians who say the human figure should be forbidden in Islamic art?"

According to the biblical tale only abstract art is permitted. You can't even draw a cat.

If someone mentions Islam, I

If someone mentions Islam, I think of the miraculous wonders of the tiles. Islamic architecture. The Mosques. Not to mention their history of science and mathematics. Who knew geometry could be so creative?

Gimme some of that popcorn.

English architects designed a lot of the mosques.

@tinman

Thank you for the “intro” very tin man-esque (or tinmany?) of you lol. While I would have worded our differences differently, I won’t argue you over words as I know you mean well.

@Hulkster Re: "I won’t argue you over words as I know you mean well."

Yeah, the intro wasn't exactly some of my best work, I admit. But it was done on the fly in a rush. My bad. I'll try to give you a better build-up next time, ol' buddy.

Tin-Man-esque, huh? Hmmmm..... *scratching chin*.... Got a bit of "racy" or maybe "saucy" ring to it. Nice. I like. However, I think I like "tinmany" better. It's more me. *grin*

Presumption #1: "you are obviously not for religion" wrong

http://www.atheistrepublic.com/forums/debate-room/how-convince-people-wi...

Starts off with you saying “I don't agree with religion, either”. You can’t not agree with it yet, also be with it. Which one is it? Or is that too black and white? I honestly don’t care which one you are for.

“Presumption #2: "atheism is a lack of belief: wrong.”

Not according to the people here, at the least the majority that are here. And if it is wrong, you mind correcting me? Or would you rather keep wasting time by avoiding the main question(s)? Of course, the choice is yours. Oh, wait, sorry that is another assumption. You are also purposefully being disingenuous by taking my words out of context. What I said was “if Atheism is simply the lack of the belief” notice the “if” that you conveniently left out of your quote. I am going to assume you know how words work and left out the “if” on purpose. Oh, dag nab it, there goes another assumption. Sorry, can’t seem to shake this assumptionitis going around the office today.

“Presumption #3 that your questions are loaded. wrong.”

That is your opinion, as the opposite is mine. You could prove me wrong or at least state your side/opinion by providing a short answer and we can discuss or you could continue as you are.

My initial post and following questions were all being sincere, sorry if they did not come off as such. However, it does not seem you are actually looking to answer anything or have a discussion rather, just play word games and complain about assumptions.

“On the other hand, you seem frustrated about something.”

On the contrary, I am actually in a very good mood. I don’t always do the best job of portraying that through my posts, I often say things very direct and they often have the wrong effect. Oh, and the new PES 2019 game came out, so yeah I am in a good mood (insert smiley face)

“I've had coffee and now have energy to listen.”
It’s really not about listening as I not here to preach anything to anyone. More about positive dialogue.

I'm only replying because it

I'm only replying because it allows me to talk about my grandmother.

She was an internment camp during the war; Manzanar. She was a solid, salt of the earth, sanctified Christian. She said her faith is what got her through.

I don't AGREE with her religious beliefs, but I am FOR the help religion provided to keep her alive.

(Hey, guys! where's the popcorn??)

Contrarians like to keep the chat going so they can rebut each detail. I bet you're mad at your god. Do you go after every newbie for attention, because your rep is bad on the forum? Is this why you had to change your name? That's a sure sign of a bad reputation.

“Contrarians like to keep the chat going so they can rebut each detail.”

I am having a hard time replying to this statement without rebutting lol. Anyway, I am not here to argue, rather, have a chat. Let’s see where this goes.

“I bet you're mad at your god”

Whoa, whoa, whoa slow down with the assumptions. I thought you didn’t like assumptions. Would you mind explaining why you would make such an assumption?

“Do you go after every newbie for attention, because your rep is bad on the forum?”

Assumptionitis today? Anyway, what makes my rep so bad? Tinman seems to like me. kinda? Maybe? I hope. Don’t you tinman? Heck, even old man through all his shouting often says at least 1 or 2 not so hateful things against me lol. So yeah, why is my rep bad? And I am sorry if it seems like I am going after you, I honestly am not. I do not know nor keep track of who’s a “newbie” and who’s a vet here. I see something interesting said and reply to it. Oh, and as a Muslim on an Atheist forum, do you really think I expected to have a squeaky clean rep?

“Is this why you had to change your name?”

I changed my name because it was too long, I believe it was “man in search of the truth” and it used to cut off halfway above my pic so I shortened it. I really want to go with “Green Godzilla of Islam” but, that might also be too long. Maybe I’ll try it out

“That's a sure sign of a bad reputation”

Another assumption, you’re beginning to disappoint me. While I have disagreed with the majority of people on these forums, I at least have respect for the ones that at least stuck to what they said. Seeing how big of a deal you made about assumptions, then come back with a post filled with them, seems hypocritical.

Well, someone is in a bad

Well, someone is in a bad mood today. Oh, and don’t worry about the “ignore button” I won’t send anything your way after this. Although, your whole pity victim act is not fooling anyone. I think I read somewhere here someone said “I have now learned not to react because they demonstrate that they hate themselves, not you.” That same person also said “He doesn't know you. So how can make any judgements about you? He can't. He holds no credibility whatsoever.” Well, we should change the “He” to “she” in this case .100% applicable to your actions. Thank you

@Hulkster Re: "Tinman seems to like me. kinda? Maybe? I hope. Don’t you tinman?"

Nope. Not one bit. Sorry. Can't stand your sorry ass. Those massive green muscles. That intense and savage stare. Too intimidating. And your grammar.....*rolling eyes*....Sheesh! Every other word is "Grrrrrr!" or "Aaaaargh!" or "Gaaaaarg!" or some other unintelligible nonsense. Not to mention the random, "Hulk smaaaaaash!!!", tossed in every so often for who-knows-what-reason. Makes conversations a little annoying, pal, to say the least. Oh, and your BREATH! Dude, ever hear of Tic-Tacs? Just sayin'...

So, yeah, you have some issues you need to address, my man. Hate to be the one to break it to you, but somebody had to do it. Oh, by the way, you still gonna let me know next time you pass through so we can meet up, right?

@Hulkster Re: "Hulk sad."

Sorry, big guy. Truth hurts sometimes. But, okay, in all fairness, there really isn't much that can be done about your ugly mug and that 'roid body. All that grunting and growling, on the other hand.... Just takes a little effort, is all. Resist the urge, dude. And - again - that BREATH! You been eating road kill??? Mouthwash, toothbrush, Tic-Tacs! Hell, ANYTHING. Remember, I'm not trying to be mean. I am only telling you for your own good.

I don't know what you guys

I don't know what you guys were talking about, but just want to add that only your real friends will tell you the truth, even if it hurts. Real friends will take responsibility and tell you face to face. Listen to Grandma.

@MB Re: SfT names

@MB Re: SfT names

Uh, if I may interject here a moment, I feel I need to clarify something regarding Hulkster's aliases. So far as I know, he has had only the "Searching for Truth" name since he has been with us. "Hulkster" and "Hulkamania" are actually nicknames I started for him. The "SfT" is just a shorthand method most others use for him during discussions, in the same way we sometimes use "MB" for you. Anyway, my apologies for any misunderstanding I may have caused, but Hulkster hasn't changed his name on here as far as I know. Just thought you should know. (I just don't like seeing somebody catching flak for something he/she didn't do, especially if something I did or said was the potential cause.)

It's on his profile. If I'm not mistaken, this means he changed his name. Forums do this to make users aware who they are texting with. You've heard of Sock Puppets? It was a real problem on two other atheist forums. Looks like AR has fixed the problem.

Thanks for clarifying, Tinman

@tinman

Thanks for clarifying, Tinman. I'll be honest I wasn't aware that's what MB was referring to. Thought it was to what I replied to.

And Ramo Mpq is my Facebook account, which is what I use to log in here. That Facebook account was created for 1 purpose. To back up a game I play on my phone called MPQ which is marvel puzzle quest hence, the hulk profile pic. Well, now that account has 2 uses I guess. Anyway, not sure how any of that is relevant and serves any other purpose other than wasting time.

You are mistaking his display

MB, You are mistaking his display name with his user name. Common error. Please refer to past posts in Site Support for more information about the impacts of that difference.

And if you want people to PM

And if you want people to PM you, your screen name and user name must match or you have to go through their profile to figure it out. For example, with "Searching for truth", you would have to send the PM to "Ramo Mpq".

Once I discovered this, I went back made both names match. Just makes it easier for PMing.
