I am just saying

There are probably at any given time 50 or more subjects being discussed. There are probably 50 or more posts on any subject. Some posts go on and on and on and on and on. I am not judging the quality or even the length of the discussion. Some are enlightening, and interesting. I am not complaining because there is nothing to complain about. It is just the way it is. Probably this post will get stuck somewhere in the vast deluge and mire of thousands of posts. I write this post with great affection because Atheist Republic is an important place for smart and important dialogue. I am just saying.

I'm saying that this is an odd post.

You brought up your concern in another thread and I responded to it...Now you've made a thread with the same concern...that your post will get swallowed up.

I'm just going to be VERY honest with you and say that you look a little suspicious.

Terraphon--I did respond to a different post about this subject. But I thought it important to discuss it in more detail

All I'm saying is that if

All I'm saying is that if Leia were the chosen one instead of Luke, that crap would have ended in "Empire Strikes Back." I mean, the Yoda and Obi Wan had twins and they put their weight behind the whiny, waffling moisture farmer instead of the badass leader of the Rebellion. Leia would have smoked Vader, end of story.

Just saying!

For those of you unfamiliar

For those of you unfamiliar with Kenny...he has joined the forum under a couple of dozen different names. Sometimes he behaves himself and posts a few somewhat cogent thoughts. In the end, though, he goes off the deep end and gets himself banned. He’s sort of our AR puppy who can be cute but then pees on the rug and gets thrown outside.

I'm going to be frank: His

I'm going to be frank: His response in the "death of a parent" thread was, in my opinion, completely out of line and disrespectful.

Maybe not intentionally so but, if not, I think that may be even worse. If he can't tell appropriate from inappropriate, he could do damage.

Just my opinion.

Terrraphon---I am going to be frank.........Your response to my response to the death of a parent confuses me. I will leave it there in order not to waste my time explaining why.

Why would you want to be Frank??? Granted, you can be whomever you want to be on here, I suppose, but I've always heard Frank is an asshole.

Cyber-Nice to see you again

Cyber-Nice to see you again after so long. I know you missed me.. I hope you remember the important contribution I made. I was obsessed with Donald Trump and couldn't control myself. 2 years of Donald Trump and the ugly evil racist is only more horrible and crazy. I will leave it up to other members to carry on my obsession with Donald Trump. It has only got worse since I left.

Hi fiat: Frankly I am in

Hi fiat: Frankly I am in agreement. If you look at some of the longer posts they are facilitated by trolls.
People like Matheist, Great Hope, Breezy etal.... These people get in the forums and simply repeat presupposition nonsense over and over and over. They do not address posts directed at them honestly and do all they can to move the goal posts, create equivocation fallacies, and manipulate threads.

If you are like me, you will find the original post interesting, write a replay, and then when the OP demonstrates an inability to be rational, a focus on presuppositional nonsense, or dishonest debating tactics, you will just give up and begin having fun. "Cog's Shovel" These people are not worth taking seriously. (To Me Anyway) We do have a few MASTERS at hanging in there and putting up the Good Fight. Sheldon always comes immediately to mind for me. He has the patience of a rock on the moon waiting for rain. This can lead to some really long threads.

One of the biggest things I notice is that the "Theist" OPs tend to be "shotgun" approaches to justifying their position. They really do not know how to focus on a single topic. You end up debating 25 different positions at the same time with one inane assertion after another and no ability to stay on topic.

It is probably up to the Atheists on the site to force the theists to stay on topic but there are many of us and so we all end up picking out different prongs of the theists slop being thrown our way.

Just don't take things too seriously. Occasionally you will get a PM from someone genuinely interested in your position or opinion. Occasionally you will find a theist who gets what is being laid out for him or her. More often you just get apologetic nonsense from them and it just makes for long confusing threads.

Just my opinion.

Yo! How's it hangin', dude? Back in town for awhile, or just passing through?... *chuckle*... Good to see you seem a bit more relaxed now. Almost got a little worried about how stressed out you were before. I have to agree with you that the AR is a great place for learning and making friends and having insightful conversations. See ya out on the field, big guy.
