These articles argue that universe creation in a multiverse scenario is driven by a process analogous to biological natural selection. One of the authors also suggests that that intelligent life may be part of the universe reproduction and selection process. Since highly evolved intelligent life will eventually learn how to create new universes to replace dying ones, universes with the right conditions for intelligent life are more likely to evolve than those without those conditions.

The jury is still out on the results of intelligent life on this planet so far... It is a race to get past our baser instincts/drive before we destroy ourselves, (and most other life on the planet.)
Perhaps we can create a self sufficient intelligent AI that will survive us?
@LogicForTW "It is a race to get past our baser instincts/drive"
The god-botherers would argue that only religion can save us. They all pretend to be religions of love, but look at how they behave. I believe that religions are either the source of our baser instincts, or at best a reflection of them, including the urge to hurt and destroy anyone with different beliefs. They also teach that this world is nothing, and that the real life awaits us after death. Get rid of them, and maybe humanity has a future.
"a self sufficient intelligent AI that will survive us?"
I'll have to ask Arnold Schwarzenegger about that one.
I agree, if we can get rid of this invisible man in the sky fantasy, humanity will take a big leap forward in cultural evolution. Teach responsibility in this life.
They say love because it sounds pretty and it helps rationalize their insane belief system.
I lean towards saying religion is a reflection of our baser instincts, the reptilian brain that is easily influenced by emotion.
Where as our emotions are easy to manipulate. An easy example is: all the TV ad's that do not say even one factual reason why their product is superior or worth buying, but spend the entire precious 30 seconds attempting to manipulate our emotions, mostly while trying to do it without us noticing our emotions are being manipulated to further their sales goal.
Do not let the popular sci-fi trope of an evil, super intelligent, AI bent on the destruction of humanity scare us into not developing any sort of AI. Creating an artificial intelligence that is intellectually superior to humans in nearly every way, and self sufficient/evolving is something we are still quite a long ways off from. All the AI improvements of late have been very targeted. Even "machine learning" is extremely targeted. Today's advanced self learning AI's that can "increase in intelligence" is arguably worse than an ant in terms of handling different real life situations without a ton of assistance from humans.
