@New Skeptic: Besides being

@New Skeptic: Besides being dense as banana pudding, refusing to address issues, relying on unsubstantiated and invalid personal experience, they are just like every other theist that wanders into the site. I just get tired of saying the same thing over and over and over, without any of it being addressed. The reason they troll is that they have absolutely nothing to say. Inane bullshit from beginning to end. How others hang in there with these guys is beyond me.

@Sheldon ---- Ahhhh! Breezy..... no one on the planet could misinterpret psychological data to fit a bigoted paradigm of personal interest as well as Mr. Breezy. He could turn anything into the exact information he needed to make his point. Not only was he a member of Trolls R Us, he was the President!

noun

noun
noun: partisan; plural noun: partisans; noun: partizan; plural noun: partizans

1.a strong supporter of a party, cause, or person.
2.a member of an armed group formed to fight secretly against an occupying force, in particular one operating in enemy-occupied Yugoslavia, Italy, and parts of eastern Europe in World War II.

(adjective) prejudiced in favor of a particular cause.
"newspapers have become increasingly partisan"

Jesus fuck...the meaning of the word doesn’t even apply here (in most cases; most posters) - and “cognitive dissonance” need not apply, nor mental illness, nor a “learning curve”...

at least Breezy could jumble

at least Breezy could jumble words together in a coherent fashion, even if the ideas were non-sensical.

And Fergs, he was funny, the posts at least were varied instead of just restating the same garbage over and over.

Even the big guy had better illogical arguments.

This latest batch, just boring.

Hi pal!

Hi pal!

I appreciate the fact that you are taking your time to read this mail. Please I want you to take everything discussed in it seriously, because this is an issue that comes from the depth of my heart which I feel pressed to share with you. It’s about your life and the after-life, where you stand with God.

There’s no question about the fact that every human on earth is born into a world of troubles caused by sin, and we continue in sin just as we met it, consequently this has continued to cause untold hardship and injustice in the world and has given the devil a hold on everyone.
Fortunately, in spite of the fact that we all have gone astray from God, God still looked for a way to reconcile us to Himself.

Atonement of blood was needed for this reconciliation because without the shedding of blood, there couldn’t be forgiveness of sins. That is why Jesus laid down his life by His death on the cross. You might want to ask “why Jesus?” it had to be Jesus because His blood was pure and without blemish. He was sinless. Only His blood could accomplish what the blood of rams and bulls could not do.
Now that the work of salvation has been perfected by Jesus, all you need to do is repent, confess and forsake your sins, admit Jesus into your life and believe in Him. You then become a child of God and you have eternal life in you. It is written “as many that received Him, to them gave He the power to become the sons (daughters) of God, even to them that believe on His name” John 1:12. Another portion of scripture says all that believe in the Lord will never be ashamed.

I ‘ld also want you to know that the scripture says it’s only through Jesus that we can reach the throne of God. John 14:6. You can look up the Bible for yourself. The Bible goes further to say that “he that believes in the Son (Jesus) has everlasting life, and he that does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him” John 3:36.

So that you can escape the tribulation and destruction that shall come at the end of the world and the eternal damnation after this life. You need to surrender your life to Christ. No matter how wicked or bad you think your sins are, He said he will forgive you.

I counsel you, my dear friend, to repent today so that you may have eternal life with Christ.
If you have decided to give repent and give your life to Christ, please pray this short prayer.

Oh God, i thank you for sending Jesus to die for my sins
i repent from all my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Give me the grace to walk with you in holiness and grant me eternal life in Jesus name. Amen.

Welcome aboard. You are now a child of God. Please locate a bible-believing fellowship or church and worship there with other children of God.

Please pray and ask God to direct you to a good Bible-believing church where you can grow in ghe Spirit

That post is an exact copy

That post is an exact copy and paste off the one you started a thread with, be careful as this could be viewed as spamming, and might get you banned if you persist. This is a debate forum, it is not a place for you to preach your beliefs.

If Garret's posts on here are a reliable metric, he will be growing up in prison. It's hilarious that he has predicting being banned from here since he arrived, and has done his utmost to bring it about, yet has not been banned. Just as he has continually lied no one will debate his vile immoral fondness for sexual congress with animals, when many have done so,, including myself, the one post of mine he has completely ignored. Proof positive he is only interested in the reaction the topic gets, and not the topic itself.

Homer "I totally consider

Homer "I totally consider that belief critically with an open mind!"

Homer "I tried to share my subjective basis of faith in this forum, yet you keep on asking me for objective evidence of it. I say I can't provide that because I understand it's not objective,"

Homer "the same objective evidence that I already said I can't provide "

You can't claim to be open minded, then also claim you hold a subjective belief that you refuse to accept any new ideas which contradict it. The two positions are mutually exclusive. You either accept rational argument and objective evidence or you do not, you can't ring-fence one idea from those criteria and still claim to be open minded.

And you need to stop playing the victim, and trying to blame me for pointing this out, as this is an atheist debate forum, of course we're going to repeatedly point out the rational flaws in faith based religious beliefs like theism, to expect anything else is absurd. If you were open minded you'd question why you continue to hold an entirely subjective belief for which you can demonstrate neither objective evidence or rational argument.

Wow, I just answered your six

Wow, I just answered your six questions about what I learned and found this way down here!

Ok lol, the seventh thing I've learned. I get great joy in watching you try to steer this towards what you want to have provided to you from someone who recognizes that nobody can provide it.

@ Homer

"I get great joy in watching you try to steer this towards what you want to have provided to you from someone who recognizes that nobody can provide it."

That is because almost all conversations are theists attempting to argue their god into existence, and atheists demanding more than just wordplay but evidence or proof. Even I do that, my goal is to eventually ask the theist "but do you want truth or just something that makes you feel good?" and "please prove your god exists".

This is an atheist forum, the conversation will eventually swing towards those questions.

"someone who recognizes that nobody can provide it."

Then why the F are they here? I don't go into a swimming forum to tell everyone how to swim when I can't tell water from peanut butter.

Homergreg's picture
I guess I'm here because I

I guess I'm here because I believe that people with differing beliefs can learn to communicate better. I think I'm learning to do so, at least I'm trying. I happen to hold that my own belief needn't be held to someone else's ultimate demand of objective evidence to shed disbelief. I believe that's a great demand for someone to require, it's not my demand though. I hear you all that in your minds I'm delusional, irrational, and suffer from cognitive dissonance. Ok. I don't mind, I guess those things work better for me if I'm all those things, thanks for your concern. I find my belief elsewhere, in the journey I've described before.

I understood from the registration form that theists were kinda welcomed to join in? I see posts lamenting those who just drive by without discussing more. If theists are indeed unwelcome to provide input and communication, I'll leave you all alone.

"If theists are indeed unwelcome to provide input and communication, I'll leave you all alone."

I spent 136 words explaining reasons why some are unwelcome or just a waste of server space.

It is not the person who is offensive, it is the stupidity, the ignoring reality and science, along with other failed traits that raise the ire of some atheists in here.

Personally I seek a healthy debate, where parties exchange ideas and facts, and both parties come out smarter and better. But most I see in here are the very easily debunked crap, which anyone could have researched before they put nail to board. Or this Myke character. Not one original word or thought, what he posted was straight out of a missionary pamphlet. And is he engaging in a healthy debate?

Remember, objective evidence is the only pathway to truth...that is all I wanted to convey to you.
Take it easy.

@Homer

@Homer

You do know what the word debate means don't you? Only your posts suggest you don't. I never presuppose what can and cannot be provided, though it's fair to say the idea that a deity will be evinced in an online chat forum is something i am deeply sceptical of, for pretty obvious reasons I'd have thought. Just why you persist with this naive and bizarre idea you can claim to believe a deity exists in an atheist debate forum and it won't get challenged every single time is unclear, but I find it quite amusing tbh. As I have already pointed out I am never going to abandon reason, why would I when those that believe without it can offer no cogent objective justification?

Homergreg's picture
I finding it amusing by now

I finding it amusing by now that I'm getting challenged on it for each and every sentence I utter here even when it's a post that I'm completely agreeing with other atheists or making a commentary on an aspect of a topic that doesn't pertain to such debate. It will end up going down the same path your wish of cogent objective justification that I don't need for my subjective belief. Maybe we can come up with some way to make that discussion an automated subroutine and be able to discuss even more! I'm not asking you to abandon reason in your stance when I comment on how I'm observing people of many partisan divides being more unwilling to communicate. This all started when someone asked what happened to all the good trolls that used to be here, and I merely had an idea why people disengage and don't return.

Sheldon's picture
Sheldon "I never presuppose

Sheldon "I never presuppose what can and cannot be provided,"

Thus your claim I "wish" for objective evidence is disingenuous, and I have explained this many times. The claim is yours, the burden of proof is yours, I have no wishes desires or expectations, I only challenge any claim be supported by sufficient objective evidence and or rational argument, if it cannot then that infers something, and I don't mean it infers something to me, it infers something rationally, and you seem to revel in shooting the messenger for some reason.

Homer "I merely had an idea why people disengage and don't return."

I imagine there are varied reasons, often theists enjoy preaching at atheists, but don;t want to debate their claims, just as often theists like to troll atheists here for a reaction. If you want some kudos for sticking around then engage in debate, as that is the purpose of a debate forum, if you want to chat informally about your beliefs and make claims, without having those claims and beliefs subjected to critical scrutiny, then an atheist debate forum is an odd place to come.

Homer "This all started when someone asked what happened to all the good trolls that used to be here,"

I'm pretty sure it started when you asserted you were a christian in your profile and started posting here. As far as I am concerned you had a burden of proof from that moment that isn't going to be waved away because you say you have none, not having proper evidence for a claim is not a trump card in a debate.

Homergreg's picture
See, look at that, a little

See, look at that, a little communication on why you believe others don't come here! Thank you Sheldon!

@Homer... I don’t know

@Homer... I don’t know whether to be offended or flattered that you learnt that apostates are “cut off” from gods people (not just JWs) lol - from me!!!! Lol...
However, to be “fair” I’ve often said that one of the last things I had a hard time “letting go” of was “prayer”. It had changed through the years on my “journey” and eventually I got to the point that it was more a meditation exercise for my own brain. I understand an emotional, irrational “need” to do it.

All I can say is ...give yourself some credit too - you’re the “fruit” guy, right?
