Look, let's get to the point. BenC is a person who's posts are of no consequence. They are of little or no value to the forum, and are extremely repetitive. He also exhibits extremely trollish behavior. Therefore, I feel it appropriate to start a petition to have him banned.
All members who are on board, say "I" or some other form of appropriate response.

"BenC" is actually an infamous troll of the Atheist Republic forum.
Generally referred to as "Kenny", has been banned many times under different names.
Previously known aliases include: "Kenny Schweiger", "Kenny", "myself", "alleycat", "richardd", "Christopher", "marken", "punkin", "amber", "Simon", "fred,k", "blasphemy", "rickwarren", "(not verified)", "imagine" and "Donald. T".
Claims to be an atheist but no one knows. He has a fondness for using "sarcasm" and sometimes pretends to be a theist. Even though no one ever gets his sarcasm and he has been told this many times, he keeps posting such deceiving comments.
This announcement will be posted whenever he spams, agitates, confuses or flies of the handle.
Also, he finds these announcements 'boring'.

I'm very doubtful. There are similarities, but several of his distinct calling cards are missing. And ericas does something Kenny very rarely does: Adds something new, apart from the usual repetitive dribble.

As the forum mod, my obligation is to AR. Please believe that I take that role seriously. I am, and will likely always be, judicious to an extreme in the use of banning any poster. That resistance is not an indication that I am ignoring what any of you has to say. I will, however, likely always err on the side of allowing discourse no matter its popularity.

To be clear, I personally don't think he earned a ban (yet), so I'm not criticising that.
I just want to give my view on the "don't feed the troll"-strategy:
It sounds like a good tactic, but from experience it doesn't work. When the regulars who know about Kenny ignores him, he is free to bate the new arrivals instead and stampede all over the place.
Remember when I said I've almost given up on the forum? It was pretty bad, at least according to me: "About a third of the content is his and another third is others talking about him."
Basically, the forum was overrun by an imbecile.
He has way too much time on his hands and has way too much issues, and apparently a shortage of both impulse control and medication.

That said, I don't have any better suggestion than the usual cycle where we wait for him to snap and get himself banned. Then wait for him to think of a new exciting user name.

He'll get himself banned, it's just not that time yet. When he starts making "sarcastic" advice to people in mortal danger again, or just floods the forum with so much reiterated nonsense that it's hard to find actual posts.
