I am currently battling with my fear of evil spirits/demonic beings, when I came across this video. It is about a former Victoria secret model who lived in LA, was into hanging out with the wrong crowds, non religious etc. One day, she experiences an episode.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jImC9ixn_70&t=436s
it's only 7:05 to 13:00
I just really want some opinions of atheists, this video has given me problems sleeping, because it seems so genuine, and I don't think the girl is lying. She doesn't mention any drugs, so it seems nothing could have caused her to have this episode. Please please please leave me your opinions, I need this!

Why? This is a wannabe competent, well rehearsed actress seeking youtube views. No witnesses, no corroboration, no evidence, Why the fuck would anyone be frightened of this?
Nonsense.
she was crying, and why would she lie?
@ Russian Tank, I have been a professional actor since I was 10 years old. I can cry at the drop of a hat. On multiple takes and at the directors discretion.
She would lie, like all actors, for reward..there are book sales and youtube commissions involved here.
If you would like to pay me the going Equity rate I will supply you a video to prove my professional emotional range and have it verified by witnesses.
Razor applies/slash.
Witnesses? None. Evidence? none, performance 7/10. Not an oscar performance but better than amdram.
What evidence can you demonstrate that her claims are true? A person can be both genuine and terrified, but still be wrong about what they think is happening, that's axiomatic.
@Sheldon, I don't know if you saw the video, but how could it have happened that she felt like the demons were taking over her body, and then she started saying demonic things?
That's an appeal to ignorance, a common logical fallacy called argumentum ad ignorantiam.
Now I ask again, since you have complete ignored my question.
What evidence can you demonstrate that her claims are true? A person can be both genuine and terrified, but still be wrong about what they think is happening, that's axiomatic. Can we assume your evasion means you have none?
I don't doubt her sincerity, but I think she just had a bad guilt blow out...she emphasises she was never an atheist, she just "hung out with the wrong crowd" (there's guilt right there) and just because she doesn't mention drugs doesn't mean she didn't do them does it?
She ended up in hospital after having a fit in the middle of the street in LA and was immensely thirsty...a friend of mine has a sulphur intolerance she did not know there is sulphur in champagne, she reached a point of almost going into shock and was very very thirsty and spent the night in hospital under observation, just saying....
She is telling a very improbable story, for what reason I can not tell nor care to know, but she was pushing a book there wasn't she? What worries me more than her vision of hell is the comments section....very, very scary,
You don't need to watch youtube vids like this RT, pick more comedy vids or Laurel and Hardy vids or get out for a walk in the sunshine...be gentle on yourself.
@Grinseed
thanks for your feedback, how likely would you say it is that she was actually taken by a demon and saw hell?
If it would help, Here is a brief history of exorcism. https://www.csicop.org/si/show/exorcism_driving_out_the_nonsense
and something of a bonus.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fantasy_prone_personality
@ Russian
zero. No evidence, no corroboration = no chance.
How likely is it that there is an invisible unicorn in front of you right now, that you can't detect in any empirical way?
What if i tell you someone you don't know, and have never met, once told me they had a dream it was real, and they were terrified of it?
Appeals to ignorance are not very compelling really, are they? Unless a person is biased in favour of a certain belief as you clearly are.
Somewhere between not at all and never.
She was not taken by a demon and she did not see hell.
Neither exist.
Except in our minds if we let them,
Creating gods and demons is our species' shared super power.
No other animal does it.
And she had a book and a public image to sell.
As Old Man said "No witnesses, no corroboration, no evidence".
George Carlin youtube vids are good for a laugh.
A publicity-seeking airhead talking meaningless drivel.
Hmm! A model and her demons tale? Think I will pass!
You know how A bunch of professional models stay skinny as a rail?
Street drugs.
You snort up enough meth and eat enough XTC for a couple years, and I will bloody well guarantee you'll see some unexplainable stuff.
@Cronus, you said "you snort up enough meth and eat enough XTC for a couple of years and I will bloody well guarantee you'll see some unexplainable stuff".
If you take these drugs for years, can you still hallucinate and see things even when your not taking them?
@RT
"If you take these drugs for years, can you still hallucinate and see things even when your not taking them?"
yes.
You are is not abbreviated as your, and yes it's possible to hallucinate, and have psychotic episodes without ever having touched drugs.
I have died. In 2010 I had to undergo emergency surgery, and a few days after, I was informed that they lost my vital signs twice while in the operating room. And I had a very powerful experience during that time, it was probably the most intense dream I have every experienced in my 67 years. What did I witness? I was on board the Bismarck as she was being attacked and sunk.
But that makes sense, I was heavily researching battleship history and the technical designs of such machines. And I was half-way through building a model of the Bismarck. That is what was on the forefront of my thoughts. So when they lost my vital signs, for a short period my brain did not receive the oxygen it required, and to put it simply, my brain was messed up.
IMO if I had been deeply religious I would have dreamed about clouds and the Pearly gates. Not because I was seeing the light, but because my brain had been fixated on that topic before my brain went crazy.
The first thing to understand is that we can get messed up and see things. Drugs, psychotic episodes, stress, the number of ways one can slip between reality and fantasy are numerous. I am not saying that lady was lying, but the testimony from just one individual carries no weight. And when you get a whole bunch of people with such fervent beliefs, the brain falls into that pattern of hallucinating towards what one is fixated on. Assuming she was telling the truth, her brain got messed up. An during that period, her brain fell back on what she had already prepared as a reason.
Russian-Tank, I take your concerns seriously and wish you comfort. Would you give as much weight to a homeless man wandering the streets and muttering about "bugs, bugs, bugs everywhere, bugs in my eyeballs"? That too is testimony from someone devoid of drugs or alcohol. The only difference is that she was young, pretty, clean, and a homeless man would appear quite disgusting.
So, why do you put so much belief in her testimony? And why would you not for someone else?
@David Killens,
thanks for your reply and your personal experience. What you said makes sense, it's just that I cannot imagine how someone could hallucinate or imagine that they were being taken over by demonic beings and then she even began to swear and say bad things. There are quite a few videos actually of people who claim they had similar experiences, and then this lady gave up her modelling career to be with Jesus, so she must have believed it.
Her beliefs are incredibly powerful, I am sure we can agree on that. And when she had her "episode", it is fair to assume religion was at the forefront of her mind. Who knows, it could have been something slight, maybe even viewing a random shadow make a cross on the ground. But something triggered her.
I gave the example of the homeless man. We choose to ignore those who are experiencing hallucinations. The mental wards and jails are full of them, many wander the streets. Take some time to observe others, many are just bat-shit crazy. They just don't post videos.
But in those case (fortunately) this young lady does not seem to suffer long term effects that reduce her to incompetence and a mental ward. Whatever happened to her was temporary. To be honest, that lady needs to see a medical professional right now to make sure that whatever happened is a result of some serious medical condition. I am not claiming she is crazy, but rather that her episode may be an indicator of a more serious medical condition.
And this leads to my next question. What is your opinion, do you think she went and saw a doctor first, or made that video? Because if the moment you saw that video, if you did not say to yourself "first we must rule out the fact she may be having medical problems" then you blindly accepted her testimony.
Russian-Tank, I will not attack your beliefs in this thread. I really do care. I am not challenging the fact you have beliefs. They are a source of strength and comfort to you. But please, just because any story has "religion" attached to it, please do not blindly accept everything.
@david: like in the movie "Concussion". they really don't know that mike webster is suffering from Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), they didn't know until one by one team mates of mike and other NFL retired players died by experiencing the same symptoms. they say that it was suicide or mental illness that they here voices saying "kill kill kill.!!" they thought it was the devil who made them kill themselves. but Dr. Omalu proved them wrong.
you should watch the movie, i love how will smith portray the Nigerian American physician, forensic pathologist, and Neuropathologist. Very well played!
@ RT
So what if "she believed it"? It doesnt make it true, it verifies nothing, it merely means that she believes it.
There are various tell tales in this video that, to any other experienced actor, indicate scripting and memorised emotional cues.
A thousand fake youtube videos mean nothing, They are faked, the "experiences" are faked , many of them designed to part fools from their money just like this example of yours.
If you had ever been backstage at a modelling show the language you hear would make your hair curl, so the whole thing stinks like a fish on a sunny beach.
" I cannot imagine how someone could hallucinate or imagine that they were being taken over by demonic beings and then she even began to swear and say bad things. "
So what, your limited imagination is irrelevant here, it's axiomatic that things can happen that you may not be able to imagine. Now, what evidence can you demonstrate that her claims are real?
Russian-Tank would you PLEASE fucking stop this nonsense!
All you do is search YouTube videos for ghost/spirit/soul crap and then you want our opinion on it. You don't really want our opinion. What you want is for us to confirm your belief in spirits. Spirits, ghosts, souls are pure fucking bullshit. Quit posting this propaganda bullshit that is nothing but a scam and should not be taken seriously by any competent adult. Obviously, you don't qualify!
@mykcob4,
I post this because I fear it and I want rational people to give their input. Also, the majority of comments on her video totally believe it, and these are all adults who function normally, go to work, make a living etc. Yet, so many people believe. I guess it's just scary in the slightest chance it could be true.
Billions of people (literally) believe in supernatural creatures. So what? Does the amount of collective belief generate, somehow the thing that is believed? No.
The video is fake. Simple as that. Nothing to fear.
Not trying to bring this subject to much attention but it's a good example. Flat earth videos. Lots of the comments believe the stupid shit. No truer than it ever was. Which is not at all. Don't waste your time.
@Aposteriori Unum
when you say fake, do you mean you think videos like these are intentionally staged, or the person could be genuine, but their brains failed them?
I mean they are fooling you and others selling you nonsense.
Read my replies. This example is entirely staged.
Many are intentional and professional fakes, some obvious amateur fakes and the very rare ones are from emotionally disturbed people. This last group may have genuinely thought or hallucinated an experience that they have, because of their upbringing, reading and film tastes translated into a brain induced "day-mare".
