I suppose they will claim that their petition succeeded because their county wasn't destroyed. God really is on their side. LOL.
Off-topic, but do you notice the number of sportsmen (and women) who look up to the sky and cross themselves after scoring a goal/try/touchown? As if god gives a shit. And both sides do it, which proves that god is a whore.
It's more of a ritual I think. I really don't hear many sportspeople thanking their winning touchdown to their prayers to a divine god in post locker room invterviews

the sad thing is I don't even think many people even consider this kind of stuff news. They just buy it because media take out doesn't bother to do some basic polling to find out what interests people nowadays
This is what our country is coming to, in the backwards areas anyway.
This is just an extreme position for religion. It's not meant to appeal to anyone except the congregation, who are hooked anyway. Think of tobacco and alcohol advertising, it's just the same thing. No one is going to smoke Marlboros (sp?) except smokers. It's just so the head honchos can make some money out of the poor saps.
And the sad thing is that it works. It's better than flogging used cars.
