You always hear evangelist, TV preachers, christians speak about the powerful word. What the hell are they talking about? Just what is this mysterious power? Well I'll tell you. It is utter bullshit.
Isaiah 55:10-11 ...[11] so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
•• There is irresistible supernatural power in God's word; it will not return to Him empty.
•• God’s Word will accomplish His desires and purposes. The King James Version descriptively says that the word of God will not return void to Him (Isaiah 55:11). In other words, it will get the job done!
•• The Word of God is powerful, because it is guaranteed by God to be effective.
•• When you speak the Word of God, you are tapping into limitless power!
This doesn't tell me what this power is or how to use it. It just says that there is a power...BULLSHIT!
Jeremiah 23:28-29 Let the one who has my word speak it faithfully ... [29] “Is not my word like fire,” declares the LORD, “and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?”
•• Think of the Word of God as a hammer. Picture it.
•• This hammer can drive home a nail = positive results.
•• This hammer can break down obstacles = overcoming negatives.
•• “SPEAK [God's Word] faithfully” and (1) all kinds of positive things will begin to happen, and (2) all kinds of obstacles and opposition will begin to be broken.
Again an analogy and no substance...just more BULLSHIT!

He is talking about "free journaling." He actually says that when you quite down and focus on jesus you will hear god's booming voice and you should write it down in a journal... That is utter bullshit.
The only "power" that these people are REALLY talking about is the power to separate you from your hard earned money.

The Christianity of today is comical. It has assimilated the ideas of the 1970''s Me Generation and their self help faddishness. Now there thousands of Christian self help books. Get rich , be successful , heal your emotional life , overcome addictions , lose weight , be a real man , be a real woman . Overcome your life as an adult child of an ( fill in the blank) . Overcome poor self esteem ,anxiety , fear.
How about this title : "Reshaping It All: Motivation for Physical and Spiritual Fitness" - this one is written by Kirk Cameron's sister Candice (remember her from the awful sit-com Full House?).This one will help you to look really hot and sexy for when Jesus comes back.
Or : "Boundaries: When to Say Yes, How to Say No to Take Control of Your Life". This one will help Christians not be co-dependent .
All of this is attributed to the mythical "Word".
