Verses Left out in Sunday Mass

I'm not sure if other Christian denominations do the same, but I have noticed that in several of the weekly readings, certain verses have been left out of the Catholic mass. One of them earlier this year got my attention, though I cannot remember the date. The reading was in relation to Adam and Eve in the garden. Adam blames Eve, who blames the serpent (who has legs and speaks, evidently). The reading was Genesis 3:1-20, excluding verses 16 - 19. These excluded verses talk about man's domination over women, the reason for the pain of childbirth, and the grief and misery mankind will endure for the grievous sin of eating a piece of fruit. Verse 20 (included) concludes simply with "... man gave his wife the name Eve ..". Never heard a priest utter the missing verses 16-19 once in my life.

Another example was Feb 7 Reading #1 which is Isiah 6:1-2a, 3-8. A nice story of a man cured of his wickedness. Verse 2b is left out, I suppose because they thought some of the congregation may question the sanity of talking about angels (2a - included) "Seraphim (angels) were stationed above; (2b - excluded) each of them had six wings; with two they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, with two they hovered". The reading is cut off at verse 8, conveniently leaving off verses 9 to 13 which are part of the same story. The "cured" man is told to go to his people and to say "Listen carefully, but do not understand. Look intently, but do not perceive. Make the heart of the people sluggish, dull their ears and close their eyes, lest they see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and their heart understand." He then asks how long he should do this. "Until the cities are desolate, without inhabitants, houses, without people (yes I know, redundancy), and the land is laid to waste. The rest talks about laying waste to whatever remains (more redundancy). A very cheery tale. But in 40+ years of going to mass, I've never heard about it until I started looking into the censorship of the readings.

I have witnessed the opposite

I have witnessed the opposite in Pentecostal churches. The heinous verses are shouted out loud with much foot stomping and waving of hands. That is why I know this : If the Ted Cruz's of the world get enough power we will see hangings of homosexuals and witches roasted alive on the courthouse steps.

Won't surprise me at all.

Won't surprise me at all.
Theists will believe anything if there are enough people repeating it.
