Hi, everyone!
I was reading about Climate Change, and I bumped into this 2012 article https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2012/nov/04/america-theologian..., in which they ask these sorts of questions: What does religion have to do with climate science? Why does this theology of science denial have such power?
I think we could have an entertaining debate about this issue. It would be very kind of you to give your opinions.
For a moment, let's take the question of wether being a man-made disaster or not, out of the picture and let's start by focussing on these simple questions:
Are you a CLIMATE CHANGE SKEPTICAL?
If your answer is
a) YES or MAYBE, but it is not a serious or urgent issue.
- Could you, please, explain your exact reasons to support this?
- Which kind of evidence do you need to question your reasons? Could you respond to statements like:
"a 2009 survey found that over 97% of actively publishing climate scientists are convinced humans are significantly changing global temperatures". (Source: skepticalscience.com/How-many-climate-scientists-are-climate-skeptics.html)
- In what way do you think that your religion and/or political bias could have (or have not) changed your opinion?
b) NO. I THINK IT'S REAL and/but no URGENT.
- Could you defend your arguement againsts skepticals. Why (why not) is a priority to address the problem?
- What could be doing to prevent it?
- In what way do you think that your religion and/or political bias could have (or have not) changed your opinion?
I hope you keep enjoying the weekend!
