Worst Bible or Quran verses or passages

What for you are the worst verses or passages that you can find in the Bible or the Quran? It could be either the most shocking or ridiculous one you have read there. I have read a handful of that, but this one is the one that comes to my mind at the moment. This really gives me the creeps! What kind of god is this?!

Numbers 31:17-18New International Version (NIV)

"Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, 18 but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man."

Hello Lily,

Hello Lily,

First of all we shoudnt talk about worst or good like that because the Word of God can't be bad there's always a reason behind everything and God knows and we do not know.

Secondly you're never sure in Bible about whatever verse you quote you arent sure if its word of God or the addition that was made by writers and translators with time. The original Bible doesnt exist anymore so you'll find many things that are questionable.

Now lets see what Quran says about this:

Most surely they became losers, who, in their folly and ignorance killed their own children; and made unlawful what Allah had provided them as sustenance, falsely ascribing prohibitions to Allah. Surely, they went astray and were not at all rightly guided.
(Chapter 6 Surah Anaam verse 140)

And do not kill your children out of fear of poverty; We shall provide for them and for you. Truly, the killing of them is a great sin. (17:31) ...When the female child who was buried alive is asked for what crime she was killed. (81:8-9)

The Prophet (peace be on him) said, 'Do justice among your sons,' and repeated it thrice. (Reported by Muslim, Ahmad, and Abu Daoud)

Allah says :

And We have enjoined on man kindness to his parents. His mother carries him in pain and she gives birth to him in pain, and (the period) of carrying him and weaning him is thirty months....(46:15)

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 17 Surah Israa verse 31:
Do not kill your children for fear of want; for it is We Who provide for them, and for you as well. Indeed, their killing is a heinous crime!

There is simply *******no****

There is simply *******no****** reason for killing random children. This is the prime example of brainwashery, I remember when I was this way. Every single thing I read that was something bad that god does I would always just say he has a reason for everything. Later now, every time I hear that I think that is just incredible bs. Break away from that, I promise nothing bad will happen, believe that.

Let me ask you, if you were god, would you kill children? No? You yourself are better than god. (Shoutout to which forum member said something similar to this awhile ago) Cheers! :D

Allah says:

Allah says:

“And those who, after they had committed a gross obscenity [Adultery], or wronged themselves [by what approaches it], remembered Allah, and then sought forgiveness for their sins – and who forgives sins except Allah? – and they did not continue in committing it, knowing fully-well [it was a sin]:

“A man guilty of adultery or fornication does not marry other than a woman guilty of adultery or fornication, or an idolatress, and as for a woman who committed adultery or fornication, no one but a man who committed adultery or fornication, or an idolater, marries her. And that has been prohibited for the Believers.” [al-Quran 24:3]

How do you define

How do you define 'fornication' and why should one be found 'guilty' of it?

There is some unpleasant

There is some unpleasant stuff in the book of the 'religion of peace':

http://wikiislam.net/wiki/Top_10_Controversial_Verses_in_the_Qur'an

Sample:

9. "Cut off their hands"

This verse orders an irreversible punishment for thieves, taking away their chance to rehabilitate, improve as human beings and become a productive member of society later on. As an example, Terrence Barkley was arrested on his 16th birthday for stealing cars, but that resulted in him getting out of gangs and into college to study criminal justice at the University of Central Missouri.[1] If Terrence's hands and feet had been cut off according to Islamic laws, none of this would have been possible.
As for the thief, both male and female, cut off their hands. It is the reward of their own deeds, an exemplary punishment from Allah. Allah is Mighty, Wise."
Qur'an 5:38

Sura 5:33 orders the cutting off of the hands and feet of those who wage war against Allah and his Messenger.
The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter;

Then there's paedophilia:

7. A man can marry a girl who hasn't reached puberty

This highly controversial Qur'anic verse prescribes the waiting period of a female who has not yet reached puberty thereby permitting men to have sex with girls who have not reached puberty:
"Such of your women as have passed the age of monthly courses, for them the prescribed period, if ye have any doubts, is three months, and for those who have no courses (it is the same): for those who carry (life within their wombs), their period is until they deliver their burdens: and for those who fear Allah, He will make their path easy."

This is pretty familiar:

1. Fight non-Muslims

This widely known verse orders Muslims to fight non-Muslims simply because they do not believe in the same God that Muslims do:
"Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Messenger have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection."

Nice, eh? Vicious, perverted stone-age behaviour.

Better advice would have been: Slaves, murder your master as soon as he/she turns his/her back on you

Well here are some of the

Well here are some of the most 'peaceful' verses from the Quran.

Quran (8:12) - "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them"

Quran (3:56) - "As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help."

Quran (5:33) - "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement"

But if you show these verses to a devout Muslim, he/she will present a context which will apparently make them appear to be less violent and even justified.About one third of the Quran is filled with verses like these which do nothing but give instructions on how to deal with non believers.Unlike the Bible, the Quran does not contain much narrative.
Apart from the violent nature of the book, it has a lot of contradictions which I anonymously debated with the Mullahs but the 'context' excuse did not seem to work and the only response it got was 'allah knows better'.It does not take a lot of effort to find one.In the second chapter you will find the following verses.

Surah Al Bakr 6 to 7 "Indeed, those who disbelieve - it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them - they will not believe.
Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing, and over their vision is a veil. And for them is a great punishment."
So, Allah himself has set a seal upon my heart and hearing then what exactly is he going to punish me for.

Mohammad Ali,

Mohammad Ali,

All of those ideas are found in the Bible. They might be worded slightly differently but the result is the same.

9:29 in the Quran

9:29 in the Quran
Kill those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they pay money willingly while they are humbled.
