Are We just Biochemical Machine?!

I know we are just biochemical machine made of stardust, but I don't want to believe that knowing what we are made of makes us completely emotionless physical machine. It seems the neurons of the brain that control emotions are dead in the brain of hardcore atheists and scientists. I am a De facto atheist, and I am a human being with emotion, not a machine like you guys. I got the reason why religious shits have been dominating the world for thousands of years, it is because of their emotions or compassion for the people those who follow them. On the other hand, hardcore atheist are too materialistic, they don't feel any compassion for another atheist who is in bad situation, unless he or she becomes the victim of fundamentalists. I used to debating over different Facebook pages about Islam and Science till 2013. I stopped doing that when our government arrested some freethinkers imposing blasphemy law, and some have been killed by Islamic fundamentalist. I know, if I get victim of Islamic fundamentalists then many websites of atheism and humanism will start shouting and will make big post about me, but they will not help me before that. I don't know why all the websites of atheism have options "Donate".... Do they help anyone?! I don't think so!!....seems they are trying to make business as Religions do!!!

You actually think this is true? If not, then you are a troll. If so then you are, well, just wrong.

I don't want to be right

I don't want to be right about my assumption... but situation made me to think like that.

You have *chosen* to think

You have *chosen* to think this way. Whatever situation led you to this certainly does not provide enough data to confirm the statements you made about all non-theists and scientists.

You obviously have access to the Internet. Go look up information about the largesse of people who identify as atheist, and that of those who are scientists. You can start with Bill Gates. You may change your mind once you've read a bit.

Yes I do have access to the

Yes I do have access to the internet, and this the maximum luxury I am enjoying. If I did not have access to the internet then it would not have been possible for me to be a De facto atheist. I have understood whatever you meant, but you've not understood whatever I meant. Can you think why I have *chosen* to think this way. I know very well about Bill Gates and so many others.

Lighten up dude.

Lighten up dude.
Generalizations like that are uncalled for.
Relax a little and look around. You'll find atheists as well as other people being helpful and thoughtful towards others all around the world.
It sounds to me like you've had a hard time.
Perhaps members on this site could help you see another viewpoint.

not only I've had a hard time

not only I've had a hard time...I am having worst time. I don't know how long I will continue my life, if thing doesn't change.

Anistein, I empathize very

Anistein, I empathize very much with your frustration and pain. It might give some of us a better idea of what you're going through if you tell us where you live. If you are afraid to post this information publicly, maybe just a general area will do. I have spent time in Afghanistan, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Bosnia and other places where Islamic fundamentalists engage in the activities you mention, I can only imagine how tough it is to be a De Facto Atheist living in any of those places. Sometimes it may seem that a minority group of people in such an environment are selfish and unsympathetic, but consider that they may just be fearful of becoming victims and are very reluctant to help others not in their close, trusted network.

I assure you that non-theists have just as much emotion as any theist. And likewise many can have a lack of emotion just like any theist. In my view, emotion comes from chemicals mixed with life experience. Most people experience emotion, but we do not all interpret them nor do we express them in the same manner.

I don't feel like I'm helping you very much, here, and I'm deeply sorry for that; I'm making assumptions about your experience and it's hard to help when you haven't given many details.

Stick around, okay? You let the "bad guys" win if you just give up.

Heh, if you don't think scientists or atheists have emotions, go stomp on one of their feet and see how they react. :)

If I could I would have done

If I could I would have done that! I can't reach their feet; so I wrote to them. One prominent scientist answered me--'good luck to you, as human being, which is what humanism is all about.' ....nothing more.... I am pleased to him that he at least answered.

I am hardly qualified to help

I am hardly qualified to help, but I can share my view.

Most atheists become atheists from a previous state of religiousness. During the process of becoming an atheist, their emotional register does not changed. They are just as emotional before as after they become atheists. There is no reason to assume that atheists are like machines.

Is the world less beautiful because it was not made by a God? No, absolutely not!
Is the phenomenon of life less beautiful or less amazing? No, absolutely not!
Is love for others gone? No, absolutely not!
Has art and music lost its meaning? No, absolutely not!

You are still you, but the filter of lies is gone.
If you view yourself as "just a biochemical machine", were you not that same biochemical machine before you became an atheist? Of course you were. Everything is just as it was before.

There is the same joy in socializing, learning, entertainment and so on. Except that now there is no reason to worry about a spying, vengeful and demanding deity.

I agrre with everything said

I agrre with everything said above.

maybe I should add that:

There is the same joy in socializing, learning, entertainment and so on. Except that now there is no reason to worry about a spying, vengeful and demanding deity.

There is even more joy then before.

before you believed that you were there doing all those things with the will of god, now you finally understood that you are there because of your own hard work and emotions.

You are not a slave of god anymore, you are now trully free to shape your life how you want it to be not how some invisible friends wants it.
When you love someone you don't need god to aprove it , you are far more important.

You are the center of the universe now. Everybody you see is there for your experience in this life.

There are many atheists which are also spiritual and believe in consciousness and that we are all connected in some way.

It is a theistic wrong claim that says we(atheists) are just machines, don't believe it.

We are ATheist, not ADeists although some atheists are also ADeists.
