Tinny you're my hero.

Tinny you're my hero.

But for real, she reeks of CAF. I can just hear the Jimmy Akin and Michael Vorris in her. It's a training ground for apology, and all we learned was to parrot the stock and trade answers. They make so much sense on the inside, none on the outside

  • Being an atheist forum, we commonly have lunatics come here and make ludicrous statements that are obviously false (which they no doubt believe).
  • We also have trolls who come here and make ludicrous statement that are obviously false (which they don't believe and just post it to make a stink).

Being a lunatic doesn't violate the rules of AR; however, trolling is a violation. If you are intentionally making statements of fact that you believe to be false; we have a problem.

So I feel the need to ask again: do you believe the following statement is true or false?

Joy - Drinking or even doing drugs before one knows she is pregnant would not cause a woman to lose her baby.

------------------------
And if you answer is "false"; I think you need to explain how knowingly making false statements isn't trolling.

I felt I did respond to your question. It also appears I am the one being trolled, especially since I noticed there is now an entirely different thread directed specifically to me. You all are very quick to take one segment of something I said and create some beautiful strawmen. I already said the quote you extracted from my post was not intended to imply drinking or doing drugs does not harm a baby. I could have done a much better job of choosing a better sentence, but since that part of the topic was not the main point, I didn’t spend much time with my wording. Of couse a woman can do a great deal of harm to her developing baby if she drinks or does drugs. I was countering the idea that a woman having a drink during pregnancy or smoking a joint would not kill a baby – that too is absurd. To tell you the truth, I find it amazing that you all are latching onto this comment of mine. I’ve also always found it quite fascinating that people are more outraged if they see a pregnant women smoking a cigarette or having a glass of wine then a woman having the baby sucked out of her at the abortion clinic down the corner. What a strange world we live in.

...ROFLMAO... Awwww... Poor little thing... *shaking head in sympathy*... If I may, please allow me to make a friendly suggestion. If you are all touchy and sensitive about having your personal beliefs criticized and ridiculed, then I highly recommend you shove them back up into the orifice from which they were emitted and stop posting them all over a PUBLIC atheist DEBATE site. Otherwise, any beliefs/opinions you choose to put on display are fair game out here... *passing over Kleenex box*... Here. Have a tissue.

You show a lack of knowledge about a subject you are obviously quite passionate about.

To characterize that is what happens in your average abortion clinic today, in western culture, to me, eithir shows:
ignorance or dishonesty. - my guess: some of both.

“I hope some of you will

“I hope some of you will actually think about this issue. The pro choice position really does not make sense. You guys are smarter than this.

Says the person that refuses to answer basic questions.
I will ask it in one short question: Can you prove that human = successfully fertilized egg. Not before, not after. (Incidentally the time that the male part of the equation happens.)”

If a fertilized embryo exists, science can prove that the embryo is human life with its own unique set of DNA. If it isn’t human life, what species do you think it is? Even better yet, since you are so convinced we can’t be sure when life begins, let’s say we not take the risk of possibly killing an innocent human life. Why risk such a potential grave mistake? Better safe than sorry.

I’d like to think if I were in the middle of the road and someone was driving and thought I could possibly be a human being, they might not go ahead a run me over because they weren’t positive I was human, thinking they would just go back and check later.

You put the word "life" after human.

Do you agree with the following statement:
"A fertilized embryo equals a human with full human right to live, even over the host mothers body's right to her own body."

Uuummm . . . perhaps it is you who are ignorant of the facts or don’t really want to acknowledge them. I stand by comments.
Google “What is the most common abortion procedure?”

Here’s what comes up:

Suction abortion (also called vacuum aspiration) is the most common type of in-clinic abortion. It uses gentle suction to empty your uterus. It's usually used until about 14-16 weeks after your last period. Dilation and Evacuation (D&E) is another kind of in-clinic abortion procedure.
https://www.plannedparenthood.org/learn/abortion/in-clinic-abortion-proc...

D&E’s are when the woman’s uterus is scraped clean of anything in it.

Typically the babies are sucked/vacuumed out. What exactly do you think happens? Abby Johnson actually worked at a Planned Parenthood. She was one of their top coordinators. She witnessed what really goes on. Watch this if you can: https://youtu.be/m74-vT0u98w

Are you thinking they are more like women taking the morning after pill with minimal side effects. Those are becoming more and more common as well, so watch what that is like. A realistic portrayal of a chemically induced abortion https://youtu.be/18WO2Z0C7Dc

To reduce the truth/facts about what women go through during an abortion procedure does women a disservice.

"To reduce the truth/facts about what women go through during an abortion procedure does women a disservice."

Just about any medical procedure. If I was to wrap my procedure (removal of large intestine) in the type of hyperbole you are throwing around, it would make a gory horror story.

But for me, the bottom line is a woman has the right to control her own body. I will not try to control another person, unlike what you are attempting.

Of course. An embryo is human life and now that he/she exists he/she comes with his/her own inherent right to life. A woman maintains the right to her own body in as much as her rights to her body do not interfere with someone else’s right to life.

Whelp I see Joy has been

@Thread
Well I see Joy has been removed.

With Joy agreeing to my statement. My next question would of been:

Can joy in any way shape or form demonstrate via evidence that statement to be true.
I already know she cannot. Therefore Joy's position on this is purely opinion. As is mine or anyone else's. Only difference is I do not force my opinion on vulnerable pregnant women's bodies.

I was also going to point out a long laundry list of why zero abortions, no abortions even just moments after successful fertilization would create huge negative side effects that. All for an unevidenced opinion that only affects a specific demographic, vulnerable pregnant women likely going through one of the hardest moments of their life.

Then own it. Pro choicers need to stop covering up the facts, pretending it is like having a tooth pulled. They fight laws requiring parental consent before a woman goes thru something like this, even though parental consent is needed before a school can give your kid a Tylenol. They fight requiring pregnant women be shown ultra sound images. Why do they want to keep women from having more information in order to make a better decision? What are they afraid of? They fight laws requiring minimal safety standards – safety standards that other similar surgical centers have to meet. They fight requiring physicians who perform abortions to have admitting privileges at a local hospital. In the event of a serious complication that requires the woman to be rushed to an emergency room, the physician should be able to follow his or her patient and continue treatment at the hospital. But Planned Parenthood doesn’t like that.

“But for me, the bottom line is a woman has the right to control her own body. I will not try to control another person, unlike what you are attempting.”

But it’s NOT just her body!!!! What about the body of the little girl baby inside her body? Who will fight for her?

I see now, you are conflating US practices with human rights.

For the record Joy, I am aware of but don't give a flying rat's ass about your local laws. I care about human beings, no matter what the nation. A woman has the right to control her body, bottom line, full stop.

This isn’t about a woman’s right to control her body. It is about a woman’s right to control someone else’s body which is unacceptable.

Ummmmm.... You get your pretty little panties all torqued and in a bind over a clump of cells that you call a human. Yet, at the same time, you seem to have ZERO problems with your god commanding that untold number of actual babies be slaughtered along with having all the unborn babies ripped visciously from their mothers' wombs to get their heads bashed against rocks in a Joy(ful) manner. You, my dear, are truly fascinating.

@Joy
Yes, exactly.
A woman holding a baby in her womb is akin to a woman holding a baby in her arms.
The abortion-on-demand lobby would have us think that a woman has the right to drop that baby anytime she wishes because..."her hands, wrists, elbows - her choice."

It isn't something I'm happy about :(

But I don't know what else to do after having a pm conversation with her. She was unwilling to explain why she was knowingly, intentionally, and repeatedly posting information she believes to be false, as fact to this website.

I'm not the arbitrator of what is true and what is false; but if you tell me X is true, then tell me X is false; I think you need to explain how you are not a troll. Because that is what trolls do; they make outrageous claims, that they believe are false; to get an emotional over-reaction out of their audience.

@Nyar

In all seriousness, if it makes you feel any better, in my opinion Joy was an absolute hardcore troll. In giving due credit, "she" knew how to "play the game" very well. Joy was not the least bit interested in having true and constructive discussions. "She" was using cheap little diversion tactics and being deliberately obtuse in order to ride the edge of forum policy to remain on here as long as possible in an effort to sow dissent and cause emotional outbursts. I know this because I am also very capable of doing the same thing (only better). Therefore, I recognize the signs of somebody else doing it.

You and Cyber both have a difficult and unenviable job on here. And it is understandable that you prefer to err on the side of caution when the decision is questionable. And I definitely know how it feels to question yourself after making those difficult decisions. Been there. Done that. However, for what it is worth, in my humble opinion, you certainly made the correct decision in banning Joy. "She" was truly toxic and (in all fairness) quite crafty in "her" deceit. Keep up the good work. Your efforts on here are not taken for granted.
