At a political debate I attended in New Zealand, an intolerant and judgmental Christian party candidate ended up sitting next an openly gay candidate at the candidate's table, purely by alphabetical chance. The body language was remarkable. Then the Christian candidate spent his entire speaking time condemning gays as evil and immoral. Guess which one of the two is in jail for molesting numerous children, including his own?
There are so many stories like this. It makes me wonder if there is some kind of correlation between deeply repressed urges and religious fervor. Or maybe Satan makes them do it?
Or perhaps its those runes the occult followers keep leaving around the place........

Or is it the other way round?
Putting the perpetrator himself aside, the behavior by religious people and their clergy of ignoring and sweeping under the rug, is jaw dropping.
From a perspective of 'protecting the clergy' it's possible to understand, even though completely morally reprehensible and unforgivable, that they would try to cover it up and get rid of the offending priest.
But the ordinary people of faith, what is their lame excuse? How can they keep ignoring. Where is the protesters and angry mobs against sexual abuse within their own ranks?
They have the audacity to claim a moral high ground, but denies into oblivion that people of their faith would do something wrong. It's like they are giving them a free pass because they are religious. Such disconnect from reality! Some even seem to give a free pass to all religions.
Meanwhile, they keep wanting abstinence to be taught and try to keep sexual education away from people. Even though that has show to have the reverse effect of what they are trying to achieve.
Mind boggling denial.
They really do get their morality directly from the Bible.

He was a saintly priest. The HIV was absolution to the demonic women...... Religion is bad enough on its own.... Organised religion is demonic (for lack of a better word)

The Australian government has set up a royal commission to investigate institutional responses to child sex abuse. Although schools, sports clubs, etc., have featured, the majority of cases seemt to involve religious groups, especially the Catholic church. The extent of the abuse is staggering. Also staggering is the willingness of churches to protect abusers and cover up their crimes. They're as bad as the ancients who sacrificed children to Baal. I don't know how any decent person could set foot inside a church after hearing these stories.
Australia is a modern, secular, liberal society. Imagine what happens in countries where religions still dominate.

This is about a Catholic priest teaching in a Church school in New Zealand. He was found to be abusing boys, but instead of reporting him to the police, the principal (also a priest) advised him to get a passport, presumably in case he had to leave the country in a hurry.

yes algebe the pope should be held responsible for the actions of the priest under him, for to long now this has been going on.but i don`t think it will go up that high in rank, he is well protected by these horrible things taking place under his pontiffic there is no justifying here abuse of this sought.that`s what happens when you have men who become priest and take a vow of chastity, there young and they have the inclinations that they have and can`t control it.i`m not sure though if they were allowed to have relationships if that would remedy the situation here.in any case i agree with you absolutely concerning this matter.
