Cutting a part from a verse is not wise, Here is the whole verse and the whole topic being discussed, One should understand the context in which it is Said:

[60-3] Neither your ties of kindred nor your children will avail you aught on the Day of Resurrection. He will decide between you. And Allah sees all that you do.

[60-4] There is a good model for you in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, ‘We have nothing to do with you and with that which you worship beside Allah. We disbelieve all that you believe. There has arisen enmity and hatred between us and you for ever, until you believe in Allah alone’ — with the exception of this saying of Abraham to his father, ‘I will surely ask forgiveness for thee, though I have no power to prevail upon Allah in favour of thee.’ They prayed to God saying, ‘Our Lord, in Thee do we put our trust and to Thee do we turn repentant, and towards Thee is the final return.

[60:5] ‘Our Lord, make us not a trial for those who disbelieve, and forgive us, our Lord; for Thou alone art the Mighty, the Wise.’

[60-6] Surely, there is a good example in them for you — for all who have hope in Allah and the Last Day. And whosoever turns away — truly, Allah is Self-Sufficient, Worthy of all praise.

60:7] It may be that Allah will bring about love between you and those of them with whom you are now at enmity; and Allah is All-Powerful; and Allah is Most Forgiving, Merciful.

[60:8] Allah forbids you not, respecting those who have not fought against you on account of your religion, and who have not driven you forth from your homes, that you be kind to them and act equitably towards them; surely Allah loves those who are equitable.

60:9] Allah only forbids you, respecting those who have fought against you on account of your religion, and have driven you out of your homes, and have helped others in driving you out, that you make friends of them, and whosoever makes friends of them — it is these that are the transgressors.

Now the topic being discussed is clear -- Allah is advising Muslims to take Example of Abraham who rejected everything which was being followed in place of Allah. Because they were forcing Abraham to stop preaching, and they were planning to kill Abraham. In the Next Versus Allah made Muslims to pray that "Our Lord, make us not a trial for those who disbelief". It is also written that "It may be that Allah will bring about love between you and those of them with whom you are now at enmity".

I think you quote the Quaran because you don't have the ability to do your own thinking. It's easy to memorize a manmade book that CLAIMS divinity but that has no evidence of said divine origins. You hide behind someone else's logic because, most likely, you can't do your own thinking. I'm so sorry for you...

I would write more but I'm too busy drawing pictures of Muhammad in my version of the Kama Sutra - I'm using Christ and Muhammad with Mother Theresa to illustrate all of the positions in a divine triad - this gives my book a much more credible positioning for my marketing.

Another funny part:

Another funny part:

Believer - Life histories of all prophets present an amazing account. They are virtually alone at the time of their initial claim to be recipients of ‘God’s message’...

People who make those claims are prophets. We shouldn't be impressed by the fact that prophets claim to be prophets.

Buddha said there are four

Buddha said there are four kinds of questions. Those that require a simple answer like yes or no, those that require a complex answer, those that should be answered with another question, and those requiring no answer at all. The stupidity of this post is so tremendous, that if it were a question, Buddha himself would require years of meditation and contemplation just to come up with a profane enough insult to describe it and its author adequately.

History books by and large

History books by and large are written by the victors.
Who were the victors here? The current major religions. History books do exist that tell a different story. A story by those that were oppressed. If you want an objective, truthful understanding of history I would suggest reading those. However they are rare, because powerful religions controlled most all literature for long periods of of human history.

"Religion ensures peace"

"Religion ensures peace"

NO it does not.

It brings divisions , hostility , disparity , false entitlement and disharmony....

Consider... Islam was created as a single religion .... but now you have Shia , Sunni , Sufism and Ahmadiyya ...

Explain please....

Peace is in no way what so ever the message of the Bullsht Qua'aran. FACT! The Qua'aran asserts that everyone on the planet will be a Muslim. We have already seen what happens to other cultures when Islam is in control. Hitler did not invent the yellow stars the Jews were forced to wear to identify themselves as inferior. That distinction goes to Islam and your Golden Age.

The Qua'aran states categorically:

1. Muslims cannot have non-believers as friends, advisors, consultants or protectors (Qur'an 3:118 and 4:144).

2. there are over 100 verses in the Qur'an that exhort Muslims to fight unbelievers; this includes 'chopping their heads off' (Qur'an 47:4).

3. Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued" (Qur'an 9:29). The jizya was a tax inflicted upon non-believers.

4. Some of the pro-war, pro-violence verses include these:

8:39 - And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism).
9:1-11 : Four-months reprieve, and, honour those who keep perfectly to accords you have made with them, and respect those who pay the subjugation tax and convert, but otherwise, "then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush".
9:29 "Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled." - Saheeh International translation.
9:38-42,9:80-91 - "Go forth in the cause of Allah" ; prefer the gains of the afterlife to fear of death in this life. Else God will punish you. The verses are talking of those who did not join war parties to attack non-believing tribal neighbours.
9:91 - the sick and the disabled need not fight as long as they are submitted to God.
9:123 - "fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you".
9:19-20, 57:10, 61:11 - Those who go and fight for Allah are greater and more worthy than those who delay it, and those who merely support the effort.
Sura 47: The purpose of the whole Sura is to call Muslims to physically fight for God, and accuse those who deny that this is their call, or refuse to fight, or disbelieve that they have to, are cowardly disbelievers who God will curse. For example:
47:20-23: Those who are godly, obedient and good, will fight for Allah. Others are cowardly disbelievers that God curses.
47:25 - Satan entices those who once believed, but take dislike to certain parts of the Qur'an (i.e., the verses saying to fight).
48:29 - "Those who follow [Muhammad] are ruthless to the unbelievers but merciful to one another".

5. Qur'an 9:23, 58:22 instruct Muslims to abandon and do not be friends with disbelievers nor be friends with disbelievers' friends, even if that means abandoning your fathers, sons or kinfolk, as they are wrongdoers. Qur'an 60:1 repeats that you cannot (should not) love disbelievers nor have them as friends although it contradicts itself 6 verses later in 60:7 by saying that sometimes God "brings about friendship" between Muslims and "those who you hold to be your enemies". A number of further verses repeat the idea that you Muslims cannot be friends with disbelievers: 3:28, 3:118, 5:51, 5:80 and 53:29. Although it isn't necessary to look to the Hadiths when the Qur'an itself is so clear, know that they are just as harsh and repeat these same commands.

IT'S A SAD THING THAT YOU DO NOT READ THE BOOK YOU PROFESS TO BELIEVE IN. HAD YOU READ IT EVEN ONCE, YOU WOULD NOT BE A MUSLIM!!!

The committee that wrote the Koran simply took a lot of the Jewish stories and intolerance and changed a few minor details and made them their own. Everything in the Koran can be found in the Bible, except the Koran is not as racist as the Bible. I've always said that it's a good thing that we don't have to cope with the ancient Israelites because they were a real pain in the ass.

All Asian religious are dangerous to one's mental well-being and emotional health.

Believer,

Believer,

a) I get it! If something good comes out of religion, then we have true religion. If bad things come out of it then we have distorted religion. You have simply defined bad religion away without benefit of any facts whatsoever!

b) A dogmatic religion is the result of a religion not properly understood by its believers. Therefore, religion cannot be dogmatic unless it has been misunderstood by its believers. You have simply defined a dogmatic, properly understood religion out of existence! Time to brush up on your basic reasoning skills.

c) Horseshit! Is evidence too much of a bother for you?

d) God has "man-made" stamped all over him! Naive popularity is no guarantee of truth. Thousands of generations believed in a flat earth. The early concepts of heavenly deities bears scant relationship to the deity of the three "book" religions. Sounds like more evidence for a man-made god!

Religions are inherently

Religions are inherently divisive. Look at how they treat rival religions.

They treat the individual as inherently sinful and demonize those who enjoy pleasure. Many of them break the Golden Rule, often even going as far as promoting eternal torture for those who do not follow their tenets. You cannot get more divisive than that.

Religion ensures peace.

Religion ensures peace.

BULLSHIT!

All three Abrahamic religions say the same thing. Although it may not be verbatim, in all three, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, they all say the same thing about their beliefs system.

I know this is not the exact statement, but if you look you will always find something like this:

You are to live in brotherhood and peace with all others of like mind. All others are to be put to the sword.

All three say something similar to this. As far as I am concerned, "put to the sword" can only mean to be put to death. If religion is peaceful, then why does it teach you theists that us unbelievers must be killed if we do not believe the same as you?
