Finally, is some damn common sense coming to the US?
https://edition.cnn.com/2019/09/03/business/walmart-ends-handgun-ammo-sa...
Apparently Walmart are stopping ammunition from being sold within their stores, stopping arms sales in Alaska (I believe the only state they still currently sell in) and not allowing the carrying of guns within their stores...
Could this be the start of some change?
I doubt it will be enough, but it's a start!
As a great man once said, "progress of a kind!".

I'm pretty sure Walmart still sells guns in Nevada; I bought a bicycle for one of the kids in my family a few days ago at Walmart, and I had to go to the sports section cashier to have them unlock the bike. There was a locked case full of guns behind the counter presumably for sale.
Thanks Nyar, It's interesting to get to hear this information from someone actually in the states.
Do you feel there is any possible solution?
Oh, I guess the announcement is they will stop selling handguns in Alaska; and apparently that is the only place they currently sell them. They will continue to sell other guns everywhere (apparently). So that explains my observation (I saw the "other guns", I don't remember seeing any handguns).

I don't know where the tipping point will be, when we as a people come to our senses. I'm afraid we aren't there yet.

/e as far as my opinion on gun control? To paraphrase my wife: I need a license to own a house cat, but not a gun?!?
Walmart has a choice between money for guns and ammo, or safer stores.
More from BBC on Walmart gun sales.

"Could this be the start of some change?"
Oh boy, things are changing for sure. Question is whether its' for the better or not...
Corporate America is beginning to distance itself from the NRA. The politicians will take note, because they know where the real election money comes from.
I still find it staggering that companies are allowed to fund parties in order to support or pass legislation.
It should be entirely illegal to lobby.
@Randomhero1982
Agreed. Citizens United vs SEC + Corporate personhood was the beginning of the end for any sort of shot at real democracy. Not that the US ever really had a great democracy, but I feel like the US got close for a while until the above court decisions were done.
We still do not even get to pick our candidates in the US, we instead pick from a pool of preselected career politicians that have access to A LOT of money (of which 90+ percent usually comes from obscenely rich corporations and/or individuals that these candidates are ultimately beholden to.)
