Nobody said that they need to see hear or feel your god as proof. We asked for REAL proof not just a bunch of quotes from an iron age book of myths, lies, contradictions, and allegory!
You didn't "hit the nail on the head" you "swung and missed."
So prove your fucking god with empirical proof not a bunch of inane bullshit!

I had a vision on january 12th 2017 of a cheribum, an angel with a trumpet, a fallen angel, a king sat on a throne with a crown then a peircing light ended the vision

So far... each reply ive

So far... each reply ive recieved sounds the same (for the most part) ...yall say God is made up because you need proof and there is none that you can see, hear, or feel... sounds like your yearning for the truth... for that someone to come along and "hit the nail on the head" with all the perfect truths that you need to establish a reason and a connection for your missing pieces of the puzzle... the bible is what your waiting on in my opinion...(your scared of what God says maybe?...) It has all the truths you need... Unless you dont want the truth and would rather argue and debate constantly...
Im just trying to figure these things out the same as you...

Kwahu Jakquai's picture
If you only use the bible as

If you only use the bible as a means to figure things out, then you are closing the door on so many other potential ideas with real tangible evidence to support it. I really suggest you try looking into philosophical concepts, like epistemology, cognitive biases, and sociological paradigms.

Yes, I require more proof

Yes, I require more proof that someone quoting the bible to me. I require evidence that can be tested and pass peer review. I'm not scare of your god, your god is a monster for all the mass murder it committed and commanded, and for the slavery it condones. I was a christian until I started reading the bible. Have you read the bible from cover to cover? If you haven't notice this is a debate forum? So less quoting verses and prove your god is real. Is faith the only way to prove your god is real?

Certainly not scared of your,

Certainly not scared of your, (or other peoples) god idea. I have an open challenge for any god to strike me dead for saying they do not exist for over a decade now. Nothing, not a peep. Not even any lighting hitting near me.

I have lived in my opinion a very good life so far, in large part because: I base all important decisions in my life on evidence, sound reasoning and logic.

Longwinded77 - Everybody

Longwinded77 - Everybody knows that God is real...

Ah yea, presuppositionlism!

Kwahu Jakquai's picture
I have found it interesting

I have found it interesting that a lot of presups like to use the whole "you need God before you can actually KNOW anything" concept. They state that the rules of logic require God from their world view.
But I've often wondered if they have ever thought about how the rules of logic came into being. Did God create the rules of logic? If so? Did God use logic when he created the rules of logic? Or do they think the rules of logic have always existed and God can just use them or not as he chooses?

Well what a load of utter bollocks that was! Another theist that is an oxygen deprived skidmark

Is there any proof that god

Is there any proof that god exists?

The fact that theist use the same tired arguments over and over even though they been thoroughly debased just points even more strongly that there is no proof, theist have utter lack of ability to come up with something new.

-Fine tuning argument? *yawn*. Probably your best argument and it is still a terrible argument.

-Uncaused argument? Wow that one is particularly bad, it is like arguing to a 5 year old about who gets to play with the toy truck.

-Jesus christ argument? You better hope "just because a book said so" is not the measurement of proof you use for all other things in life, otherwise I got "oceanfront" property in Nevada to sell you...

The cause argument is the one

The cause argument is the one that baffles me currently... why does anything have to have a cause or purpose?

Nyarlathotep's picture
Determinism (the formal word

Determinism (the formal word to describe their cause and effect argument) is a classical idea that was pretty much scrapped about 100 years ago. The apologists apparently still haven't gotten the memo.

algebe's picture

These preachers use determinism to "prove" the existence of god, and in the same breath they tell us god gave us free will. The two concepts are mutually exclusive.

Nyarlathotep's picture
That is a really good point.

That is a really good point.

Could you imagine this in a

Could you imagine this in a court case...
"So what is the evidence, well it says in this book...."

How about reading a book that is factually accurate and is supported by other civilisations?

There's not even one eye witness account from the actual time, even apologists accept that the very best they can offer is roughly 5 years after the fact.

If that's good enough evidence for you feckless buffoons then crack on...

       Our Earth is millions

Our Earth is millions of years old. The bible tells us and science proves it.

1. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
In verse 2, the word "was" in the Hebrew is "tohu va bohu", which means and should have been so translated ''became". The only possible deduction from this is that God destroyed the world that was.

2 Peter 3:4-7
5. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6. Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7. But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

(2 Peter 3:5-7) The error of scoffers.

For this they willfully forget: The scoffers presume upon the mercy and longsuffering of God, insisting that because they have never seen a widespread judgment of God, that there will never be one. But they willfully forget God’s creation and the judgment God poured out on the earth in the days of Noah.

#1. A literal belief in Creation, in Adam and Eve, and in Noah’s Flood are essential for a true understanding of God’s working both then and now. To deny these things undermines the very foundations of our faith. Sadly, today it is many Christians who willfully forget these things, putting themselves in the place of scoffers.

That by the word of God the heavens were of old: The Bible clearly teaches that the active agent in creation was God’s word - He spoke, and creation came into being.

#2. The world that then existed perished, being flooded with water: Peter’s point is that things on this earth have not always continued the way the are now. The earth was different when God first created it, then it was different again after the flood. Therefore no one should scoff at God’s promise that He will make it different again, judging it not with water, but with fire. The same word that created all matter, and judged the world in the flood will one day bring a judgment of fire upon the earth.
          Dinosaurs in the bible?...

Let's go to Job Ch.40 and see what God tells Job about the dinosaur.

Job 40:15
Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee (Job); he eateth grass as an ox.

"behemoth" - the Strong's Concordance H930 - bĕhemowth - an extinct dinosaur a Diplodocus or Brachiosaurus
"I made with thee" -  Don't look over this because our Father is telling Job, I made the Dinosaur and you were there Job, and the Dinosaur was in the first earth age as we went over.

Job 40:16
Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
His massive strength is in his loins: his force doth in his belly's muscles lie.

Job 40:17
He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews are of his stones (sinews from his thighs are firm) are wrapped (and entwined) together.

cedar - A cedar tree is very tall and God says his tail moves like one. Wow! that's a long tail.

Job 40:18
His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
Job 40:19
He is the chief (first, beginning) of the ways of God: he that made him (fashion, accomplish, make) can make his sword to approach (to draw near, approach) unto him.

God created the Dinosaurs and God can approach the Dinosaurs if He wants and that is what God is saying to Job.

So Job, and all people in the World who was ever born, and all that will be born were in the first Earth age in our spiritual body, in a different dimension along with Job.  And when we die we return to our spiritual body in Heaven as God created everyone that ever lived, born, and passed away as God says next in Eccl 12 and Mark 9.

Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured (appeared from another dimension of spiritual bodies before them).

Mark9:3 And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.

And there appeared unto them Elias ( Elijah) with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.

Moses and Elijah came to this dimension from their spiritual bodies dimension and Jesus was transformed to His spiritual body all of which were in this flesh age but not in flesh bodies and Peter, and James, and John all saw them together.

I pray that this has been as enlightening for you to read as it was for me, and to bring it to you in this message.
                     God bless.

2) You can cram the condescending bullshit.
3) Just stating random nonsensical bible verses only proves that you are not interested in real discussion. That you are only interested in trolling.

I find it quite fascinating

I find it quite fascinating how one can twist interpretations of almost anything in their minds so they can attempt to keep new information consistent with their current beliefs. Even though I'm an atheist, I wanna use this as a reminder to check my own cognitive biases. My beliefs should conform to the evidence, not my evidence to the belief.

I believed in a god my entire life up until a couple of years ago. I attended religious summer camps, churches, and weekly prayer meetings. I was (am) also educated in, and interested in, many of the sciences. But my knowledge of science did not conflict with my belief in god for far too many years because the congregation I was part of were full of smart, educated, successful people. They incorporated scientific evidence into the understanding, did not believe the dogma that the earth is merely 5000 years old, understood the expanding universe, etc. The difference came from how the Bible is interpreted vs. what was (incorrectly in their view) taught by other groups.Science fact COULD exist with a belief in god.

Two simultaneous events flipped the switch for me: 1) watching a documentary on Scientology, 2) watching a lecture by Neil deGrasse Tyson. The PEOPLE in the documentary that slammed Scientology looked a whole lot like the people in my congregation. "How could these people believe such crazyness" I asked myself. "Why didn't they choose to believe in Jesus?" I asked. But the familiarity gnawed at me.

Part of the lecture with deGrasse Tyson was him saying "90 percent of scientists are atheists but what makes me curious are the 10 percent. What makes them believe there IS a god?"

The root of knowledge began to grow in me like a mustard seed. A tiny seed blossomed into atheism and I mourned. My eternal life was gone. My grandmother I would not see again. But I knew the truth and there is no going back.

There can never be proof for god. But there is FAITH and there is the concept that "god keeps himself hidden" and "god works in mysterious ways." Faith is what sustained me. I believed there was a supreme being who cared about me, watching and protecting me, and it was difficult to give that up.

But I also know that I have been conned. Conned by my own faith and the faith of people I loved, for 90 percent of my life.
