"please feel free to borrow Old Man's helmet'.

And you can fuck right off Tinny, My helmet. like my infectious weeping dandruff, stays right on my head as long as the 'Jo's" of this world are typing.

No, I am sure the poilite, guffawing, gentle BR will woo Jo with his 'new' polite approach, to realise that Jo's "pursuit of truth" was in fact, just an excuse to lie shamelessly.

@Old Man Re: "And you can fuck right off Tinny,"

...*blushing*... Awwww... Stop it, you ol' smoothy... *coy smile*... You always say the sweetest things to me.... *blushing more*.... *waving laced hand fan in front of face*... Careful, though. You know you don't want to make my wife jealous... *giggle*...

Oh, hell. Nevermind. Who am I kidding? She would more than likely just pay you to take me... *resigned sigh*...

Edit to add: Yep, just as I thought. I just showed her this post, and her response was, "Is he willing to negotiate?"

What are you afraid of?
Why not let him make his own conclusions?
Stay away from Jo, he is a bad boy.
He might be a bad influence.

I am not Joy. How can I prove it?
Or is it just more name calling in an attempt to deflect away from the arguments?

Problem is you have no arguments. Only a mass of transient verbiage.

Aw, shucks, Jo... *blushing shyly*... You give me waaay too much credit. I would never dream of trying to deflect you away from any arguments. You do amazingly well at that all on your own. There is simply no way I could ever compete with you in that area. Thanks for the compliment, though... *wink*...

Jo "If an ""aatheist"

Jo "If an ""aatheist" concept is semantics", than would you say that removing one "a'" would also be semantics"

No, and this pathetically dishonest response amply illustrates you are dealing in specious semantics. Since your dishonest attempt to reverse the burden of proof has been explained and its facile nature made obvious, yet you persist as if you don't know or can't understand the simplest of concepts.

Jo, do you believe invisible fairies exist? Can you offer any proof of their non existence?

Stop lying Jo, its tedious, and simply speaks volumes about your beliefs.

Jo "What do you mean by evidence? Scientific?"

More dishonest semantics, the word evidence is amply defined in any dictionary Jo, and you have been told enough times what it means for your peurile dishonesty to be quite nauseating.

Jo "Can reason not answer the question?"

Asked and answered many times Jo. You've been here many months and failed to offer a single reasoned cogent rational argument, instead dishonestly pretending you have while repeating ad nauseam the same dishonest rhetoric, and logical fallacies you started with. Your pants must surely be ablaze by now...

Jo "Isn't your claim that there is no evidence a faith claim?"

Another shockingly dishonest and puerile piece of evasion, a moment ago you implied you didn't know what evidence meant, you have admitted more than once you have no objective evidence so whatever was left of your pants Jo must surely have just burnt completely away.

Jo "Do you know there is no evidence, or do you just believe there is no evidence?"

I know you have had months and failed to demonstrate any, even admitted all you have is subjective opinion. If you have it then present it, and start with the best, so we can avoid wasting time when you laughably present subjective rhetoric, and irrational arguments containing known logical fallacies as you've done repeatedly, but have dishonestly refused to acknowledge even once. Worse still when asked to list all the beliefs you hold without any objective evidence, but that form no part of your religious beliefs rather predictably and thoroughly dishonestly, you have refused to even acknowledge the question, because you know it exposes your inherent bias in favour of your chosen superstition.

Your rank dishonesty will never go unchallenged Jo, and you can ignore my posts until its hello darkness my old friend, all that will happen is your dishonesty will be laid bare for any remotely objective reader to see.

OH, WOW!!!... *feigned look of shock*... Is it not INCREDIBLE that our darling little Jo who has been absent for so long just CONVENIENTLY pops back into the forum just a few hours after our most recent troll "JoY" has been expelled? Oh, my lord! It's a miracle, ladies and gentlemen! And I am once again a goddamn PROPHET, because I actually foresaw this happening in a vision! Hallelujah!

Tin-Man I copied the wrong

Tin-Man I copied the wrong URL.

I hope I got this right. This should be Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah song. Lots has been written about his intended meaning especially the part about the lady who drew him out. Watch the lyrics.

Yeah I am familiar with this

Yeah I am familiar with this song as well. Beautiful song.

Heard it sung at two very religious gatherings, trying to hold back a smile on my face when the song/writer/singer themselves were not overtly religious. I do think they slipped in some subtle hints that can be interpreted many ways.

I really like that song, or did, the first 100 times I heard it .Sadly, it's been done so often on tacky talent quests , by the the talentless, that I've gone off it a bit. . However, I still have a favourite version. k d lang, with the best voice of her generation.(imo)

You'll notice a much larger k d is wearing a black tent, and no shoes. I understand she's become a Buddhist.

OFF TOPIC:

I still love Roy Orbison, known in the trade as "'the operatic rockabilly singer " -- He did a great duet of "Crying" with k d lang. I think her solo versions is actually as good.

I still prefer the Cohen version of Hallelujah.

I had listened to the KD Lang version a few times. I just like that mood created by Cohen's voice and style.

Roy Orbison is one of the few country music singers I can tolerate. There are others.

Here is Cohen's trademark

Here is Cohen's trademark song. This version is when he was young. I personally don't think anyone did it better.

Bird on a Wire.

Jo: TWISTING WORDS AND

Jo: TWISTING WORDS AND MEANINGS IN PURE QUEST OF IGNORANCE.
RE: I cannot provide empirical, scientific, or falsifiable evidence that God exists. (hence no reason to believe god claims.)

Neither can someone who believes he does not. (NO ONE IS MAKING THAT ASSERTION. THIS IS AN ATTEMPT TO SHIFT THE BURDEN OF PROOF.)

RE: "“I have tons of evidence, arguments, claims and conclusions I gleaned from my journey” that have convinced me that God does exist. Hasn’t both of us made a subjective conclusion?"

NO!

One of us is asking for the evidence. Your arguments, claims and conclusions, thus far, are based on NOTHING / BS. You have nothing and still assert belief.

The question is..... "Why believe when you have nothing." It is not the assertion to "DENY BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING." I can only deny the existence of your god after you clearly define it. Only then can logical, practical, or valid inconsistencies be demonstrated to negate the existence of the being called god.

Belief is allocated to the degree of reliable evidence. Non-belief is not the same thing a making the assertion that there is no God. This has been explained to you over and over and over and you just don't seem to be able to grasp the concept. A deficiency in your education perhaps?

RE: "I am convinced that he does, but not in the same way I know 1+1=2."
Knowledge is a subset of belief. So you are asserting belief with no knowledge. Isn't that the same as complete and utter ignorance? By what means can you be convinced without any claim of justification for that belief? If you have a justification that can stand against rational inquiry, EVERYONE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR IT.

All you have said is "I believe because I want to believe and I need no facts or evidence to support this belief." WE ALL AGREE. YOU ARE CERTAINLY ALLOWED TO GO THROUGH LIFE AS IGNORANT AS YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE AND THAT PRETTY MUCH ENDS ANY CONVERSATION. THERE IS NO DEBATE. YOU ARE ENTITLED TO BE IGNORANT.

CHEERS!
