Doesn't seem to work for me. I'm probably doing something retarded, but I tried using the address of an existing imgur image:

It starts the transfer, but quits after about half a second.

It might be one of those too, what a lucky guy you are :P

You SERIOUSLY need to fix the private messaging functionality.

I just tried to send an apology to Jamal (about posting an image containing Muhammed) but of course, all I got was an error message.

Hi, some comments on the

Hi, some comments on the mobile usage of the site forum.

The popups are very, very disruptive when using the phone or a pad. In the middle of reading or typing a post, a popup with a big friggin smiley covers everything. All of a sudden, I'm typing into the fields in the popup instead of the text area for my post.

The toolbar for sharing is also an unwelcome addition when using the phone. I'm on a Nexus 5 (not the smallest screen among phones), but I still have very little space that actually shows what I'm typing when the virtual keyboard is out. Add the toolbar to that and I have about 10 pixels to see my text. Even on a desktop, the toolbar is sometimes placed above text in the forums.
My suggestion is that you should at least make it possible to minimize/maximize the toolbar (and perhaps even remember the preferred setting).

I feel an attempt should be made to atleast make a way for the subscription window (the "big friggin smily face") to not pop up once one has subscribed.

I agree. This pop up is annoying to say the least.
When I'm logging in at the AR site on my phone (Nexus 5), the pop up jumps up and blocks the entire view. I can't even see the X to close the ad. I have to flip the phone and back out of the Keyboard mode just do be able to disable it.

Also there is an ad for becoming a preacher going around the ad space. I don't think that belongs here.

I have been on many various forums. When I first started joining forums 15-20 years ago, they were understandably very bad in structure. The policing and moderating was terrible. The navigation was bad, and so on. I am quite new here and I am just getting use to how this site operates. So far everything seems to function fine. However I have not seen how the site handles spamming, flaming, and attacks. That is my true test. Many here have probably visited various forums and have seen the kind of attacks that complete shutdown sites, mostly made by gun advocates, birthers, global warming deniers, and anti-abortion evangelicals. Also each forum is only as good as theirs moderators. If moderators are objective and fair and have a good control, the forum is fine. Otherwise forums just become flame-fest without content or meaningful discussion. I like the fact that there is an Atheist only area, a safe haven to escape personal attacks and carry on worthwhile talks. Overall the site functions well. The only glitch is the Gallery area. Initially one cannot read the slogans, so when you choose a particular item to look at, when you want to go back you don't actually go back to where you were.

This is just a nitpick of my own, but I get very confused when people get into a 'reply loop' that doesn't filter to the bottom of the page. I see new posts are available in the text, but when I scroll down, I get upset because I then have to scroll up and figure out what the new post was.

Jeff Vella Leone's picture
Yea new replies are a bit

Yea new replies are a bit confusing to find and the forum does not cater well for it.

The only solution I have is that when it says there is a new reply, if you click on it, it goes directly on it.

It does not work well when there is more then one though.
You have to manually try to see who replied to what like you mentioned.

I agree. The forum is a need

I agree. The forum is in need to make it much easier to find the new posts.

I also agree. In other forums

I also agree. In other forums I have been on one could go to their own profile page and see every thread that they were currently on (active thread) and the history of the threads that they had been on. They could also quickly view responses to their comments and access the thread directly from there. It cuts down on confusion and people can keep the conversation in order and going.

Is there anyone working on

Is there anyone working on the site these days? If you still want feedback, here goes:

Your subscribe pop up and your "Share This" menu at the bottom (when in less than 1200px), really screws up the use from mobile devices.
I suggested earlier that the "Share menu" should have a "Hide" button, which you do have, but only when it's on the left side in "desktop mode" (the arrows at the bottom):

The "Hide" button should

The "Hide" button should always be visible. Not only on mouse-over since there is no mouse when using mobile devices. And not only in desktop mode, but absolutely in mobile mode. Since this is when it's really needed.

Here is a normal, frustrating

Here is a normal, frustrating use case:

1. I use my phone, the original nexus 5 phone with the latest version of Android (6.0.1), and in Chrome I go to atheistrepublic.com/forums in landscape mode.
2. I notice I'm not logged in, so I start searching for the not-so-easy-to-find-login...
3a. As I'm scrolling down, the below lovely feature pops up.

Notice that the "X" to close the ad isn't even visible in the screen...

5. Frustrated of being interrupted in the middle of typing and that flipping the phone still doesn't let me close the ad, I press the button to go back so that the Keyboard closes. Finally, the f**kn' ad can be closed:

6. I flip back to portrait

6. I flip back to portrait mode, since the keyboard buttons are easier to use in the wider mode, but when pressing the Login field again to continue writing, I end up with a 25px high screen area, because of the "Share this" menu, that is not removable.

It's very hard to navigate to the next field or to the Submit button with this screen size...

8. When logged in, I want to use the phone in landscape mode, because in portrait mode it's not possible to see if a post is a reply to another post, or if it's a post on the main thread. But, I still cant get rid of the pesky "Share this" menu that is taking up space, which is kind of acceptable because there is enough space to read text now, but it's still irritating.

In the below image, it's visible that the bottom post is a reply to the above post. Not so in portrait mode.
