1. Beat people with whips?
2. Destroy the livelihood of merchants.
3. Destroy any city that would not listen to your disciples?
4. Tell people to hate their mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, aunts and uncles to follow you?
5. Lie about returning in a single generation? Not a generation shall pass and some standing here will see the kingdom of god before they die. HORESHIT LIE.
6. You don't care about peace because you have brought division and a sword to kill people?
7. You always wanted to set man against his father and daughter against her mother, and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a man's enemies will be the members of his own household?
8. You always wanted to infect helpless pigs with demons and evil spirits and send them over the edge of a cliff?
9. Get caught in a room with a naked little boy and when the police come to rescue him, send him up the street with his panties falling off?
10. Support slavery and the ownership and torture of human beings?
11. Punish people eternally for finite crimes or for the simple fact they do not believe in him. (Send unbaptized babies to hell!)
12. Endorse hate crimes?
13. Pretend Jesus started a new religion called Christianity even though he was an orthodox Jew.

WWJD? Lie, Cheat, steal, threaten, and harm the innocent.

@David Killens: Birthday

@David Killens: Birthday cards and all. YEP! And lets not forget that the final solution came from Martin Luther.

"Luther's hate for Jews was not a small mistake, but rather part of the essence of his reactionary religious ideology. Today, many still see him as one of the greatest German and Christian heroes of all times. "

From the American Atheists

From the American Atheists site:

To be clear: Atheism is not a disbelief in gods or a denial of gods; it is a lack of belief in gods.

This just proves that atheists will go any length to hide themselves behind one finger so that nobody would be supposed to tell the truth, that is: that atheists exist only because religion exists. They are subservient to believers. Atheists exist only because believers exist.

"Atheists exist only because believers exist."

I regret having to burst your bubble, but atheism is a very small fraction of my life. In fact, compared to when I was a practicing christian, a heck of a lot less time. Your logic is so twisted it goes beyond amusing. It is like a flat earther proclaiming that those who believe that we live on an oblate spheroid drifting in space exist only because of flat earthers.

I live in the real world, you live in a fantasy construct. I have love and compassion in my heart, yours is filled with hate and intolerance.

Re: Fergie's profound proclamation of, "Atheists exist only because believers exist."

I don't know about the rest of you sorry bastards, but this godless heathen here... *pointing to self*... exists because my parents had sex a little over half a century ago. Pretty sure my atheism had nothing to do with it.

Oh, on a bit of a side note, I just recently learned from a "reliable source" that athletes exist only because non-athletes exist. Fascinating shit.

@Ferguson1951: atheists exist

@Ferguson1951: atheists exist only because religion exists.

We are all born atheists. As children we are indoctrinated into whichever religion happens to be prevalent in our families and communities. Then we grow up and some of us reject religions and gods.

So I suppose you're right in a sense, since the word "atheism" implies rejection at the ancient evils of gods and the men who create them. Look at the history, tenets, and contemporary behavior of your religion, and consider why decent, intelligent people might go through the often painful process of turning away from it.

Being a lover of freedom,

Being a lover of freedom, when the revolution came in Germany, I looked to the universities to defend it, knowing that they had always boasted of their devotion to the cause of truth; but, no, the universities immediately were silenced. Then I looked to the great editors of the newspapers whose flaming editorials in days gone by had proclaimed their love of freedom; but they, like the universities, were silenced in a few short weeks…

Only the Church stood squarely across the path of Hitler’s campaign for suppressing truth. I never had any special interest in the Church before, but now I feel a great affection and admiration because the Church alone has had the courage and persistence to stand for intellectual truth and moral freedom. I am forced thus to confess that what I once despised I now praise unreservedly.

Agreed, eventually members of the church did resist Hitler and his Nazis. But they did so for their own personal reasons, not because it was the right thing to do. And what really happened, did the church slow down or diminish Hitler's rise to power or the atrocities he enacted? That is a big fat NO. All one has to do is examine what the church did, and what it affected during those horrible years. They did nothing.

One may harp on this aspect, but the bottom line is that initially, with the Reichskonkordat, the Roman Catholic church made a pact with the devil.

fergie, read up on the Reichskonkordat, learn what it really was.

Still biased.

Still biased.
In your totally confused minds, do you think that Hitler would have stopped killing Jews just because the Pope would say so? hahaha.

When Stalin was told that John Paul II wanted to do away with his communist regime Stalin simply made this comment: "How many divisions has the Pope?"

You are not simply rational atheists: you are unreservedly, ferociously against religion and the Church and that prevents you from having objective views.

"You are not simply rational atheists: you are unreservedly, ferociously against religion and the Church and that prevents you from having objective views."

I respectfully disagree. If we actually had a civil dialogue (which I believe you are incapable of), you would quickly learn that I understand some benefits of religion. Religion served as a unifying force between different communities. If they shared the same religion, there was a framework for communication and understanding between those communities, instead of automatic distrust and war.

The Roman Catholic church made a deal with Hitler so they would be individually protected, that priests would not suffer the same fate as Jewish rabbis. The one and only reason why the members of the church changed their stance was because Hitler reneged on his deal, and members of the church did not enjoy the level of protection they expected.

What could the church have done? They could have at least spoken out, and condemned the Nazi regime. But they stayed silent .. and that silence speaks volumes.

Stalin died in 1953, Pope

Stalin died in 1953, Pope John Paul II was pope from 1978 - 2005. You seem to be confused about history.

Documents regarding that time

Documents regarding that time have been made public and recently Pope Francis promised more documents will be made available which historians will be able to consult. So you are hurrying your conclusion too much.

I base my opinion and findings on how history played out. Letters and notes from Pope Pius XII may absolve him of the assertion he was anti-Semitic, along with other misconceptions. But the fact AS THE FREAKING POPE he did not speak out, it is the consequences of his inactions or weird politics that is carved into the history of those dark days.

When I was a practicing christian one phrase I used often was "the road to hell is paved with good intentions the road to heaven is paved with good deeds." I judge a person on their actions, not their intentions.

Stalin died in the 1950's; John Paul II didn't become the pope until the 1970's. Seems like you made this story up as well.

I suspect fergie has his

I suspect fergie has his popes confused. It was Pope Pius XII who signed the Reichskonkordat deal with the Nazis, did not speak out against them, yet definitely did speak out against communism post WW2.

But yea, he has reached the point where he's starting to pull stuff out of his ass.

But yea, he has reached the point where he's starting to pull stuff out of his ass

He has been less than careful with the truth since he arrived on these forums.
He misquotes, manages to read the front page of newspapers that didn't carry the story he claimed, knows the inner workings of the Vatican, is utterly blind to history yet manages to confuse historical fact with wishful thinking. All in all a typical theist who would say or do anything to feed their confirmation bias.
Either that or he is a troll/sockpuppet.

@David and Nyar Re: Poops...

@David and Nyar Re: Poops... Oops...Er, uh, I mean Popes.

Aw, c'mon, guys! A Pope is a Pope is a Pope. What difference does it make? After all, they are ALL the human mouthpiece for God, right? Therefore, when ONE speaks for God, that means they ALL have to agree, whether past, present, or future Popes. Because (as some of you have OBVIOUSLY forgotten) God is NEVER-CHANGING, remember? Well, that is, of course, unless there is an issue that does not coincide with the agenda of the current Church administration. Then, naturally, God will have an entirely new opinion about that particular subject, and the Pope-In-Command will be certain to relay God's change of heart to the faithful masses. Otherwise, God is eternally the SAME in every way, shape, and form. OH! Except for the differences between the New and Old Testaments. I mean, CLEARLY God cannot expect Modern Man to adhere to the same laws/rules/commandments he set forth for society a few thousand years ago. That would just be ludicrous. Duh! Other than that, though, God NEVER changes. NEVER. Period.... Oh, wait..... Uh, were there actually any Popes at all during those times? And if not, then how the hell did God ever pass His Word along to the masses? Sure, there was a talking snake at one time, but it spoke only to Adam and Eve. And I seem to recall a talking ass somewhere along the way. But who would be stupid enough to listen to an ass? Ummm... Let's seeee.... Oh, yeah, the whole talking burning bush thing seems totally plausible... *schnerkle*... 'scuse me... *wiping nose*.... So, uh, yeah, okay. I'm, uh... I'm totally stumped on this one.... *scratching head*...

Fantastic song! Should be on a Top 10 music list somewhere. However, there's only one tiny little thing I would suggest. I'm not trying to be critical, but he kinda leaves you hanging a bit at the end. I just think he could have been a little more clear about what he really thinks of the Pope. Other than that, a very catchy tune.

You keep not getting it.

You keep not getting it.

Atheism is unassailable because it does not believe in anything. A synonym for cynicism.
Hence, it is too easy to attack a Christian

The Pope only speaks for God when he speaks ex-cathedra, and there are conditions for it.

Sadly fergie, you are the one not getting it. Atheism is just one thing, a rejection of a claim. A theist makes the god claim, all I ask is that you provide proof on your claim.
