So you killed the moth, to put it's wings over your eyes? You look like a moron.

Edit to say he is a moron, but looks like a dumbass.

A lack of any self awareness

A lack of any self awareness is an essential prerequisite for a creatard.

Are you sure it just ends at "looks?"

To be fair, he works very hard at it, even for a creationist.

These seem superfluous given

These seem superfluous given Bullwinkle's presence, but are 22 particularly stupid creationist claims/questions about evolution. Read them they're pretty funny.

Discussing probability of adaption despite being a human in an universe in which 99.9% of everything can and will kill you.

Work out the improbability of you waking every day baring this in mind.

Have you been able to explain

Have you been able to explain these remarkable coincidences ? Do you just cite your evolution of the gaps and claim that w time all things are possible? That’s what you’re essentially doing.
Like artwork having ants on wings, evolution only degrades w loss of original information

arakish's picture
And what exactly are you

And what exactly are you doing? Being a Religitard Absolutist arguing that magic is real. Do you think Harry Potter is a true life person? As a matter of fact, are you even capable of cogency?

The accepted scientific

The accepted scientific theory of evolution explains and evidences the scientific fact of species evolution, and this answer remains factually true no matter how many times you parrot your creationist straw man.

Moths.

Moths.
One hundred and ninety million year old fossils.
Over 160,000 species, world wide and counting, 10% of all known species.
Predators? The other 90% including man who devours tonnes of moths, caterpillars and pupa daily.
Defences? No offensive ones, only a very effective system of camouflage and mimicry, which has produced remarkable world wide survival rates for nearly two hundred million years.

Billions of moths born, live, breed and die daily, for millions of years, despite huge survival pressures, which provides the demand for adaptive variation.

These are the kinds of large numbers theists like to use to impress and confound.

But that's not all, add to this, the myriad possible outcomes of the sexual reproductive process, the innumerable instances of division and recombination involving countless chromosomes, creating any number of even small variations in each and every moth forming in it's cocoon. A Very Big Number indeed.

The chances for a moth to develop markings for camouflage and mimicry, in order to survive and increase, with these VBNs, is astonishingly high. It would require greater odds of winning Powerball 8 times, than for a moth NOT to develop eye-shaped patterns on it's wings.

Its not a matter of luck, it's a matter of probability. It's not the inevitability of a creative god, it's the flexibility and variability of evolution and the stubborn persistence of life.

Genetics supplies the variation, natural and sexual selection deliver the 'creative' result.

There are several thousand species of moths from all around the world that mimic eyes of different kinds of birds. Others moth species mimic lizards, wasps, spiders and not just their eyes, but head and body shapes as well. You need only google images of moths. Marvellous underated creatures, stubborn survivors.

A cogent, knowledgeable easily to understand explanation....that will be totally ignored by JNV3 while he types "Waaaah, what about the eyes! The EYES!," all the time stamping his little feet at his own incapability to understand simple concepts.

I appreciate your appraisal

I appreciate your appraisal of my post Old Man; for me, your opinion matters. I don't think I was thinking of JNV3 when I wrote it. I just felt the need to balance his ignorant strawman comments on evolution, just in case any impressionable kids were reading. ; p

Yep, a good comment. Most of my historical stuff s for the edification of the "watchers" ..may I copy the content of your previous post?? There are a few debates where I would have liked to use that argument! I find it easier to express in historical terms and events! Which is why I love easily read, accurate, cogent posts like yours for subjects in which I am not completely comfortable.

Go right ahead, feel free to

Go right ahead, feel free to copy, use and spread what ever you feel useful. I've been copying and making use of your posts for arguments and discussions for the past year. I have a dedicated Old Man History folder. My son is a lifelong ardent student of the Roman Empire and he has found your researches into the early christian church most interesting, as I have.

I have other folders for general science and religious comments I find interesting and useful, with all entries dated and attributed. I have also started a 'Funniest AR Post' folder which I hope to use to present an unofficial award at the end of 2019. I consider any post made on the AR forums as an entry.

Damn, dude. Why did I not think of the folder thing? That is way cool. I also have pulling quotes made by others and have some of them in a file titled "ARfavquotes.html" for the web site I built compiling much of what I have written in my books and have written here. I even have some entire posts made by others included in that web site.

If only I had thought of that folder thing earlier...

@ Arakish

Wot? No Folders? You have a large file all of your own on my puter...as does Grinseed now I have his permission. TM's stuff I just tear apart and sell on to the highest bidder....Sheldon has a large file as does Cog...but his is marked HHH "open only when truly in need of relief" i.e. "Have Lube Handy"

Apart from that....Nyar (especially on the Math stuff) has his own file...even though most of the time I looks, I reads, I cries at mine own lack of comprehension....

arakish's picture
Now I have to go back through

Now I have to go back through the archives and pull posts. Ugh. That is going to be monotonous. But in the end well worth it.

Thanks for the folder idea Grinseed.

So what you’re saying

So what you’re saying virtually is that with time every thing is possible , things like getting perfect looking moths eyes on wings including fungus spots, what could be more convenient or coincidental?
And the katydid looking exactly like a leaf to a “T”
Normal thinking folks don’t buy into fantasy coincidences but ones who subscribe to evolution of the gaps sure do
Quite Shameless in fact

No That's still a creationist

No That's still a creationist lie. For instance there is absolutely no evidence that risible myths like talking snakes, and magic apples are possible, and all the evidence refutes the ludicrous creationist belief that humans were zapped into existence using magic and clay in their current form.

What's possible according to evolution is only what has been objectively evidenced and is explained in the scientific theory of evolution.

"Normal thinking folks don’t buy into fantasy"

Well sane rational ones don't anyway, just creatards.

You were right Old Man, it

You were right Old Man, it all sailed right over his head and I did my best to keep it simple. This is not just ignorance, It's wilful ignorance and the greatest shame.

And as I have said...

And as I have said...

Searching for knowledge and learning is what it means to be human and not a religious robot being force fed only the data they wish you to know. There is no shame in being self-taught, to search for learning and knowledge. The only shame is not searching in the first place. — Arakish
